Are these Pancakes really 300 calories!?

Seems high even for pancakes, only made 2 slightly larger than a CD and about a quarter of an inch thick using this mix.

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/cal...ake-mix-404545

Measured out 1/2 a cup and then made the pancakes, 300 doesn't sound like a ton just seems excessive for the size of pancakes, might have to save some calories today and have 4-5 tommorow

    1 serving = 29 carbs.
    29 * 4 = 116 cal just from the carbs.
A 1/2 cup bowl of oats has around 27, and if you poured them out flat, it would be roughly the same size (as 2 pancakes).
I guess the difference is because the pancake mix is denser?

Maybe, I was thinking about buying some oat pancake mix since I always manage to mess up oat pancakes (they never come out fluffy enough and I am to lazy to whip egg whites every morning).

I guess my question should have been does 300 seem high for these pancakes since they are obviously what the nutrition label says.

There is also the protein and fats that are in the mix that post 2 did not account for. They are exactly 150 cals a pop

    (29*4)+(4*4)+(2*9)=150calories

Yes, I was just mentioning the carbs alone as they were the greatest calorie contributer. I wasnt meaning I thought the nutrition facts were wrong, just making a comparison on the grams of carbs.

Does that seem like normal macros for 2 pancakes though? I haven't made any at home for close to 4 years and I didn't count macros back then so I was a little taken back.

Did you use a prepackaged mix? If so, check the nutrition facts label.

If you think of a piece of bread being ~80 kcal, a pancake about the same size, which is much denser would make sense to be around 150 kcal. Agree with deadpool.
