Yes, good slow release carb with excellent fibre. I have oats and banana every morning followed by 3 eggs, and my cut is working fine. You need a good carb source after the night's fasting, however, I cut right back on carbs for rest of day (other than PWO).

Depends on your definition of "low carb diet", or how low you are going. Unless your are doing Keto, you will need some carbs, preferably around your workout. Oats would be a good choice, but again only if they fit the macro needs of your diet.

When your asking for help or input, try to be a little more revealing, and you will get more feedback. What does your diet look like, and what are your goals of said diet?

I am sure you know this, but I figured I would post it anyways. Make sure it is the instant plain oatmeal, and not the flavored kind. The flavored ones have a bunch of unnecessary ingredients that you don't need. Also, what amount are you planning to eat in the morning?

Good answer. More specifics are needed to answer the question. If you are on a Keto type diet in which you want to go into a state of ketosis, the answer is a definite NO. The carbs from oatmeal will probably prevent you from entering and maintaining Ketosis. However, if you merely want to ingest healthy carbs in the form of vegetables, fruits and whole grain products, the answer is yes.

Unflavored > flavored, but eat the real thing, old fashioned oatmeal. Or better yet, steel cut. The more UNrefined, the better.

^^^this. I haven't gone to steel cut yet, but changed to 'old fashioned' plain and I swear it's more filling and 'sticks with you longer.' A lady at my work followed my lead and she says the same thing; I do know the oats swell up better, but you just have to give it about 5 minutes to do so after you add your hot water.

This is interesting. Where do you get your almond butter? I've tried Trader Joe's but all of TJ's "butters" are overprocessed.

Read the carbohydrates per serving on the box. I think it averages 22 gram per serving. If you are limiting total carbs per day to 50 grams, then that’s 44% of your total carbs. If you are on a zero carbs for the day, you blew it.

I like the store brand plain old instant ones. 1.5 minutes in the microwave and its done. I'll add some butter, brown sugar, almonds and protein powder to it when I want to.
