i think american football is better, here's why:
1. We don't need to promote it, it promotes itself.
2. Hits are better in the NFL, more often.
3. Its actually fun to go to a huge stadium for an NFL game.
9/10 of thsoe hits were pussy arm/shoves, they might have looked good but i guarantee they don't hurt as much as a real hit in NFL.

I'm an American that has played American football and Rugby. How can you say that football with pads is going to hurt more when the pads absorb a lot of the impact?? That just doesn't make sense. Yeah I'm sure Ray Lewis could put a hit on you that would hurt you, but having pads on helps out with the blow. Have a NFL linebacker w/pads on, hit you while you have pads, and then the same with a rugby guy with no pads and tell me who hurts more. Trust me no pads is worse. Also on a side note, my dad played for the Dallas Harlequins for about 15 years. He'll tell you the same thing. He played American football too.

No doubt there are some huge tackles in football, but I just don't like them as much.
