Have any of you been able to maintain a low body fat % (8-10%) and high sex drive?

I'm at about 11.5% body fat right now... this is just according to visual comparison and my Withings scale (impedance testing isn't super reliable I know).

Right now my sex drive is decent but muted a bit. Normally my sex drive is about 20% higher...

I'm at about a 500 calorie deficit right now trying to get back down to 10% after a setback.

However, I've never really run at maintenance. I'm curious what other people have reported and if running at maintenance has worked for you at lower body fat percentages.

Also, if anyone is doing Intermittent Fasting along with low body fat % and a high sex drive that would be interesting too.

Or if you have just flat out had your testosterone tested.

I recently had mine tested.. I"m 34 and on the low end of the range but normal for my age.

How did you come up with this number? Also, do you have overall lower energy or just in the sack?

Hi there. I don't have experience with being sub 10% (or even sub 15%) but I do have a couple ideas for you.

-When in a cut (you mentioned you were 500 under maint.) it's relatively normal to see at least some fluctuation in sex drive, which will hopefully go away after a couple weeks at maint.

-A lot of people here including myself believe ingesting an adequate amount of dietary fats in your diet daily will help keep test levels up and keep your mood and sex drive up. So, I'd try increasing your fats if you haven't already.

    Good luck!

This is just subjective.... I'm just measuring where I was at before I was on a deficit and to where/how I feel now.

Yeah... I've done some testing with moderate fat amounts.

Any thoughts on saturated vs unsaturated, poly, mono, etc?

I target about 70g of fat per day... 150g protein... the rest carbs... mostly ancillary sugars I get in milk, etc. Sometimes some complex carbs in the form of oats.

I'd just get a fair amount of fats in general. Peanut butter, oils, nuts, avocado, etc.

I cannot tell you if 70g fats is too low, high, or just right because you still haven't provided your personal stats/info.

Anyways good luck! Seems you're on the right track.
