Does anyone have tips to overcome late night hunger? I eat about 5 or 6 meals a day. I have protein with each meal about 20g. I read that not eating enough protein may make me hungry at night. I feel that after 6pm I just want to binge eat I try to eat 1400 net calories a day. I am not sure that since I work out 4 times a week it has caused me to need more calories????
In any event I would like any tips on what food to eat at night to hold me over or any techniques to not want to binge eat at night

How about reordering your day? If you're hungry at night, eat at night. Have you read all the stuff about IF (intermittent fasting) around here? I eat at 1:00, 5:30 or 6, and 8 or 9. Three, bigger meals, all later in the day. Works way better for my schedule than the little mini meal thing. I've done that too and felt hungry all the time.
Point being-- meal frequency/timing doesn't matter. Pick a schedule that makes you happy and that helps you stick to your calories/macros for the day.NFSC Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=663053791

Tall glass of water and go to sleep.
Curious do you consume 6 meals per day in hopes your metabolic rate will increase do to frequency of your meals? If so then that is a myth, meal frequency dose not increase your metabolism.
Do you space out your protein intake throughout the day because you believe that the body can only absorb so much protein per meal? If so please see the link below.

If you train your caloric expenditure will increase so yes your caloric intake should increase with it depending on our goals of course. If you feel hungry yes lack of protein will do that. Protein is a filling macronutrient that will keep you full longer then carbs or fat (for most people). Fibrous vegetables and sugar free jello are your friends.
You may want to look into an IF type protocol. I follow the routine to help suppress my hunger maybe it can work for you too.
If anything I said above is completely fubard and not understandable its because I am completely fubard myself and I don't understand what I am talking about, I'mma make like Jamie and blame it on the Henny. 1400 cals and 5-6 meals per day? Thats 230-280 cals per meal. Do you enjoy eating this way? Seems like youre getting teased by food 6 times per day and you never allow yourself to actually be satiated

1400cals seems a bit low. Do you have enough fat in your diet? I know if I don't get enough, Im ravenous by evening. Ummm, also I like 4 larger meals rather than 6 wee ones.
Drinking green tea is a great way to kill cravings, or munching on carrots or celery. I find strips of chicken breast help me out at night too. Chew some SF gum!
Good luck! Night time cravings are the worst, try getting online and reading too. That helps me (just not MEN, that makes me more hungry!).*Unaesthetic Crew* -- Not by conscious decision :D
Adaptation is forced; it will always hurt. Embrace the pain or fail to progress. Either way, it's on you.
