    Pyramid Sets VS Drop Sets

Going for strength gains and Mass, It seems to me Drop sets would be a better choice. Anyone have a opinion?? Im looking to INC this into my workout later on.

Drops sets are not usually a strategy used for building strength. Personally, I think they are a waste of time on compound movements. I do see some benefit for them in doing bicep or shoulder isolation work.

There are other options besides straight pyramid sets for strength and size. There are smart power lifting programs available on this site (e.g., 5x5, Wendler 5-3-1). You can also employ rest-pause, which is more productive for me than anything like drop sets on compound movements.

I agree with pastorgbc. Heavy sets and good recovery between sets adds strength and mass. Eat plenty of proteins and carbs too.
How can you visualize training a muscle if you don't know its structure?

I use drop sets as a plateau buster. They work great for that. But they aren't a part of my normal routine.

this is not a true "versus" question: the first thing, PYRAMID training, is a basic foundational training philosophy...

the second, DROP SETS, are a form of what we call INTENSITY MULTIPLIERS....

as pointed out already, they are great , sporadically, and strategically, for busting through standstills and certain barriers....

nothing beats the old pyramid concept of weight training....
Lift as MUCH as you can, for as MANY reps as you can,
while in complete control of the exercise.

I like to pyramid up to a heavy weight (1-3 rep range) and then drop set back down if there's still gas in the tank.
