People say Asian parents are strict (ya we know Indians are Asians too), but seriously, I do not think I have seen parents much more strict than Indian parents.
Like I notice with Asian parents they are strict about academics with their kids. Indian parents are strict about what their kids wear, who they kiss, who they even look at, who they talk to, what they eat and don't eat (no meats allowed for some), and other stuff.
Maybe it is my small experience with a few Indians but anyone who been around a lot care to share?

Thats kinda true but lots of pros too about indian parents when compared to american parents etc:
1. Free food 4 life
2. They buy us all the protein powder etc
3. Give money when we ask (i dont think any indian kid here works. I'm talkin about upper middle class etc)
4. They buy u a car/bike whicheva
5. They pay for college/univ
6. Live wid dem as long as you want ( even after marriage! Lol)
All this is from the top of my head so I will add if i think of more.
I am indian
Proud to be one!
I will write the cons too upon request

But on the same note, I can't stand overly strict indian parents. most of the **** they preach is so archaic.

not really, some are overly strict and that is defo not a good thing
but the majority are just the right amount - parents letting kids do whatever the fuk they want is what results in all these dumbass useless idiots around
this is why indians are successful and intelligent generally, not to mention parents pay for everything*the above post is serious 60% of the time everytime*

I got Muslim Arab parents. Both our tradition and religion puts restrictions on life in these times.
Most of my friends are also Arab and Muslim, but what's so special about me is that I'm from the gulf region. We're the ones that still live MOST of our traditions, still hanging on to them.
1. Traditional clothes everywhere is common.
2. Still live very close to our families.
3. Stick to religious duties, for example the 5 daily prayers.
4. Hijabs and clothes. Friends can only be in the living room / Diwaniya ( special room in the outer part of house for inviting friends / male family members ). If we want freedom in the house, must go through ****load of arguments and arrangements to get women out of the house.
5. Bertstared by parents every time they see me talking to a girl they don't know ( srs ).
And my parents just happen to be extra strict and extra religious than other parents from same origin / religion.
Can't do ****...

Every parent should beat their kids, look at these emo/homo phags walking around nowadays. Parents aren't allowed to beat their kids, bullies are getting criminally charged, who is gonna keep these kids in check?
