    Is this a bad idea?

    Currently I work out 7days a week. But I only train 1 body part per day, and let that part rest for 5 days before I train it again. Bad idea?

    Well it varies from week to week since I train only one part per day but here's an example.

    Monday-arms
    tuesday-shoulders/abs
    wednesday-back
    thursday-legs
    friday-chest
    Saturday-back to arms and just follow the same routine.

    So basically youre doing a 5 day split with no rest days...
    You realise you're not resting.
    Why do you think we need rest days?? Your body builds your muscles during your resting phase; by hitting another muscle group, youre telling your body to stop growing even if that muscle group hasn't been hit the day before...what im trying to say is that your body rest all together as a WHOLE....

    Take 2 days off. Here's my split

    1- Chest
    2- Back
    3- Legs
    4- REST
    5- Shoulder/Traps
    6- Arms
    7- REST

    Also, by hitting chest the day before, you will no doubt hit your triceps..and then the next day is arms day, which will make you scream in pain and lower your intensity.
