edit - wolframalpha says 288? i thought PEMDAS says parentheses first?

= (48) / (2) * (12)
= 48 / 2 * 12
= 24 * 12
= 288

Ive never heard of pemdas, but i used BEDMAS, brackets first so you have
48/2(12)
= 48/24
=2

Brackets first, then divide the 48 by 2, then multiply the 48 with 12 (the brackets) and you get 288

if you follow PEMDAS...the first thing you do is distribute the 2:
(2x9) + (2x3) = 24
48 % 24 = 2
