/thread (srs)
edit:il give a reason why i like it because im not a *******, i like it because i like music which takes talent to produce, i.e. no mainstream crap thats in today's charts where the producer is the talent not the artist. Electronic/dubstep takes a long time to cut up all the samples and place them etc and to get the right sounds for the bass and synths. why dont you try making it yourself and see just how long it takes to get a decent combination of sounds. I also like other genres like metal however but im recently getting into electronic/dubstep (hence skrillex) (not mad)

have you found anything similiar to Skrillex? I love his fast style b/c slow dubstep doesn't really do it for me. I've seem him like half a dozen times at this point, you can tell he's a nice guy from the way he acts at his shows, then spends about 30 seconds thanking the crowd. A lot different than Deadmau5 who has outright said he hates raves and rave culture.

Fail OP thinking everyone that listens to EDM is a *******.
Been a trance/house fan since 07 when everyone hated that "strange sound and repetitive annoying music"
People have their own taste in music, like how some enjoy rock more than rap. EDM is just a new wave that everyone seems to love, mainly teens because its party music. It will die out in a few years, then everyone will hop onto something else.
BTW, the songs people posted are garbage. Dubstep sucks... my bias
Trance ftw!

real talk brah.
lets listen to some good tunes
yes, people may like electronic music and think it sounds good. but i have no respect for them as musicians, i really don't even consider them to be musicians. sorry, but learn to play guitar. listen to the solo in "confortably numb." that shiit is orgasmic, it brings about emotion and feeling. electronic music is nothing, its guys using computers to make a sound.i rep back sometimes

I've always liked electronic music as far back as I can remember. Used to love cheesy 90s euro dance, then got into trace in the early 00s, and whatever electronic music genre got popular since then like dnb, then dubstep.
I was never a fan of rap, I don't listen to music for lyrics unless they're funny or memorable. I like my songs simple.
I used to enjoy punk and other kinds of rock, but let's be honest, when Nickleback is the most successful group of a decade, you know things are bad. The only rock I've enjoyed in the past 5 years is hipster kinda music which incorporates a lot of electronic stuff.
If someone doesn't listen to electronic music, then there's a good chance we'd have nothing in common. I just like to have fun and party.

What about Drum and Bass? I mean you guys really don't know what you talking about, it's ignorant! I've seen infected mushroom live, they had multiple drum sets, multiple guitars, vocals, etc.
I mean this is all semantics really, what takes more skill. Do you guys personally think the keyboardist in a band has as much skill/talent as the guitarist? I doubt it. Just because something is easy to make doesn't make it not music.
