Hmmm...not exactly. I just wanted your attention
I eat every 3 hours (approx). Not because I think it is the way to go...only because I cant eat enough on breakfast/lunch/diner to avoid starving during the day. I need to eat every 3 hours.
I sometimes have burning feeling to my stomach. Iv talked about it to my doctor and he said to me:
«DONT eat between your meal. Have your breakfast, your lunch and your diner, nothing more. Do not eat before your going to bed and do not eat snack. Otherwise, you increase the amount of acid in your stomach and this is what cause pain to you.»
Is he freaking serious!?
Am i seriously suppose to have an intake of 3000 kcalories and 160+ protein in 3 ****ing meals!? I dont take any supplements.
Does eating 6 times a day and before bed is really bad for my stomach? I dont want to suffer from acid reflux at 19 y-o....but I dont think I can eat everything I need in 3 meals.

There are plenty of people who eat more cals than that in 2-3 meals (people who intermittent fast). Calories =/= quantity. You can eat foods that are more dense and hit your caloric goal.
Also, what I would do is first test it out and see if it actually benefits you. You lose nothing by attempting to only eat 3 meals a day.

Dense food? Can I have some examples?
The problem is, my stomach is full pretty quick. I dont see how I can eat 60g of protein and 1000 calories per meal. I would have to eat meat like a hungry african 3 times a day.
Id rather solve this problem instead of taking medicaments to hide the problem. When the pain is too much, I take some anti acid.
Does too much peanut can cause these burning feeling? Cuz, acid reflux happen very often when Im on a cut and I eat peanut everyday? I start a bulking phase and these acid reflux barely vanished.☆ ☆ QUEBEC CREW ☆ ☆

eat as much as you want throughout the day.. usually you will have "trigger foods" like onions.. peppers.. fat..
Don't eat for 3 hours before bed, if you get reflux during the night, sleep with 2-3 pillows under your head.
Sleep on your LEFT side.Cutting

You comment about physicians, especially in this context, it at best odd.
Anyway, the important thing to keep in mind is that your extreme level of meal frequency has no differentiated metabolic yield when compared to a lower meal frequency (adjusted for nutrient intake).
Thus, unless eating 8 times a day is somehow more pleasurable for you than eating 2 or 3 or 4 times per day, it makes no sense to engage in such a feeding pattern.

I fear that you're confusing terms.
If you're trying to assert that you have a "fast" metabolism, then you would be making the case for increased daily nutrition, and not for increased meal frequency.
Your "metabolism" doesn't change digestion time or nutrient buffering, and thus your eating pattern is only effective if you prefer eating at that frequency or have trouble eating larger meals to the point where you need to break your intake into very small units of food.

Did he diagnose you with GERD or anything? I'm pretty sure that eating small frequent meals is actually better to control excess acid production. Here are some recs:
The lower eso****eal muscle can be weakened by factors other than food. The following recommendations may be helpful in reducing symptoms:
Stop using tobacco in all forms. Nicotine weakens the lower eso****eal muscle.
Avoid chewing gum and hard candy. They increase the amount of swallowed air which, in turn, leads to belching and reflux.
Do not lie down immediately after eating. Avoid late evening snacks.
Avoid tight clothing and bending over after eating.
Eat small, frequent portions of food and snack if needed.
Lose weight if overweight. Obesity leads to increased reflux.
Elevate the head of the bed six to eight inches to prevent reflux when sleeping. Extra pillows, by themselves, are not very helpful.
The following foods aggravate acid reflux, and should be avoided:
fatty or fried foods
peppermint and spearmint
whole milk
oils
chocolate
creamed foods or soups
most fast foods
The following foods irritate an inflamed lower eso****us and may need to be limited or avoided:
citrus fruits and juices (grapefruit, orange, pineapple, tomato)
coffee (regular and decaffeinated)
caffeinated soft drinks
tea
other caffeinated beverages
Spicy or acidic foods may not be tolerated by some individuals.

To above,
Classic text book answer noob
Dont take an ant acid, that just neutralizes with a base doesnt stop problem.
You need to ingest an acidic source to stop the production of acid within your stomach,
which is activated because of the akalinity of the foods you're eating is causing your pH to raise = acid has to be created to make back to neutral
Doctors /RN give u text book answers from books even though publish date is recent is based on old research/information
...
trollin isnt even fun on bb sometimes
also,
btw meal freq if you really need to eat every timed hour then your body hasn't been introduced to starvation its just letting you know your its time for your timed meal.
Your body doesnt know what hunger is.
Another point, your body can't distinguish if its hungry or if you just need liquids.}
If you want to solve the meal freq ,
Stop eating your normal habits slowly stop or go cold turkey and train your body with 1 meal /day or whatever x meals.
As far as eating x meals /day
who knows, it will be easier on your digestion as opposed to eating 1 very large meal but your body isnt used to that type of digestion.
Eating 6x meals could also cause you to have more than one poop sessionLast edited by RugbyTank; 04-06-2011 at 01:52 PM.

Most doctors are not thinking in a bodybuilding context when they give advice to their patients. They don't automatically think like we do in terms of "i have to reach a certain macro number and certain caloric target" etc. etc.
Explain what is wrong with a bodybuilder eating 8 times a day and how that makes Marek for example an idiot. I await your riveting insight.advertising/self-promotion not permitted
