So basically was at court today at my one of my best mate's trial and he ended up getting 4 years! I feel so bad for him...**** knows what he must be going through right now...all this because of a stupid drunken night out about 2 months ago......
We came out of tiger tiger club (people from london would will know this club) with some girls we met in there and ended up bumping into this group of blokes outside....
turns out the blokes knew the girls and started kickin it off with us because we were with them....
there was 6 of us and about 10 of them....
everyones gettin lemon at this point and then punches start flying all over the place and it turns into a proper brawl...anyway it goes on for abit and because we are out numbered we start to take a batterin....at this point my mate grabs a bottle out of desperation and smashes it round one of the blokes head/face ....(he would never of even considered this sober hes not that type of bloke) there was blood everywhere and he completley pollaxed onto the pavement
few moments later 2 police vans full of coppers come flyin down and grab us all....Anyway i look round and this guy is lying unconcious on the floor proper bleeding and i know straight away its pretty serious
the doormen point out my mate to the coppers and told them he used the bottle....he was then slammed to the floor by the police and thrown in the back of the wagon
The bloke my mate bottled had to have surgery on his face and is now disfigured for life but i dont feel one bit sorry for him he deserved it after all they were the ones that started the trouble for no good reason
He pressed charges and today my mate was sentenced to a 4 year suspended sentence in Lewis Prison....
When people heard about it today they were like wtf because my mate is not agressive or the fighter type at all it was just something he did drunk in a split second and now its taken away probably the best 4 years of his life (21-25).......i feel so sorry for him.........it just goes to show how alcohol can affect people and crazy drunken mistakes can haunt you for life......makes me wonder how far i could of gone in that situation without really realising the consequences at the time because i was ****ed out my face
I dont know what the laws are like in other countries but im sure his sentence could of been longer in somewhere like america......i guess it could of been alot worse

cliffs:
-you guys got drunk
-found some slutty girls
-other group arrives, they want slutty girls
-you guys are getting your asses kicked
-your buddy smashes a bottle over some ones face...in a fist-fight...guy is disfigured and requires surgery.
-buddy goes to jail, as he should.
not entirely true. once a weapon is involved, when no other weapons are present, it becomes assault with a weapon.Last edited by The.Giant; 10-26-2007 at 02:38 PM.

Yeah, one of my biggest fears is getting arrested and serving jail time..
Show your mate a lot of support, he's going to need it, especially if he's a bad guy like you say.Nearly all men can stand the test of adversity, but if you really want to test a man's character, give him power. -Abraham Lincoln

that's easy to say from behind some computer screen, chillin in the living room or something. But people do a lot of crazy **** in a fight. if you're outnumbered, and/or drunk, you better do something to get an advantage, cause 6 on 10 is hard to overcome. i'm just saying, in the heat of the moment, people do a lot of stuff. hitting someone with a bottle isn't usually planned out, but **** happens. i'd be ****in scared fighting 6 against 10, i'll tell you that. that's ****ed up, each person you face, someone's at your back.

If the guy is nice in real life then obviously he doesn't deserve this.
There's a difference between a scumbag who DECIDES to do something like that and a good guy who makes a split second bad judgement call whilst intoxicated.Nearly all men can stand the test of adversity, but if you really want to test a man's character, give him power. -Abraham Lincoln

you know whats a much better option than hitting someone with a bottle? youre outnumbered 10 to 6? walking away. even if they pushed you first, know your limits. yes he was drunk so he had bud muscles. you ask the kid when he gets out of prison and he will tell you the same thing. that I cant tell you for a FACT.
I hope for his sake he has a suspended sentence esp if hes as good of a kid as you say.

you said he got a 4year suspended sentence?
in america if the sentence is suspended, you dont do the time unless you violate probation; the sentence is 'suspended' unless you **** up again!
isnt that the same as in great britain?"As sure as the world stands, you jf1 shall spend an eternity in Hell in eternal torment..."

Wow. Reading that gives me all kinds of flashbacks. Without going into to much detail This happened to me and some friends once. We were even more outnumbered than you! Someone from my group ended up smashing one of 'their' blokes over the head with a bottle. He went down on the pavement and didn't move. Police arrived and threw us all in a cell. Dude was in a coma for a while. Luckily none of us ended up getting prosecuted, thank god.
I have family who have spent time in Lewis prison. There are worse prisons, trust me.
