I'm sure every bar has a different test weight that it can hold, and I'd be willing to bet if he's doing a deadlift with that much weight than most likely, he's not using the same bars that I use when I work out at my local YMCA.
All you really need to do is call up whichever the company is that makes bar, and say "hey we have a guy trying to break a deadlift world record, can you send us a bar that can sustain 500+ pounds on each side."
