Preperation for my first contest

Hi
About a week ago I've started to diet down for my first amateur bodybuilding contest. I started with about 183lbs nad now after 7 days of dieting and cardio I'm around 179lbs. I have measured my bodyfat a week ago and now and it has not changed (it is 10%) I'm using hydroxycut and I'm doing about 30min of bike on empty stomach every day. In my diet I have about 2100 calories I eat about 175g - 180g of carbs and about 280g of protein. I train 6 days a week.
Here is my question, can you advise me on how to loose fat rather than lean body mass ? I have realized that I'm loosing more muscle than fat. I'll appreciate any help
PS My contest is on June 2nd in NYC so I have about 17 weeks left. I am taking a little more time to diet down for the first time.

Here are some of my pics:

Do you know if L-Glutamine with MSN would be good instead of BCAAS ? Because I've bought three containers of it because I was planning on using it in my diet. I was planning on using it starting next week.

have you read any of Layne's articles on pre-contest dieting?
You are really far out from your show so you have alot of time to take off the bf slowly w/o sacrificing all your hard-earned muscle. check out his articles.

and you look really good for 17 weeks out. good luck!

Just a quick suggestion. NEVER EVER EVER excersize on an empty stomach. You do nothing but hurt your body.

Glutamine is still good to have in your body, because it is the most abundant amino acid in your body, but it serves a different purpose than BCAAS. Take both. Extend is a good BCAA brand. Do some pre contest diet reading. laynes article is really good under the articles section, and if you can order the "Game Over" cut diet book by derek, Mark, and Layne. it is free and all you have to pay is shipping. its like 4 bucks and it is the best book ever. You look great at 179lbs, you wil definately be able to get into contest shape in 17 weeks. Good luck. Just a small side note, you might also want to read Derek charlebois's article on taking bodyfat measurements, because from looking at those pics, you do not appear to be 10% bodyfat. Id say more like 12 or 13.

ok I've read laynes article but I dont understand half of the things he is talking about because I dont speak perfect english I'm not american. Can someone tell me the most important thinghs I should know so that I will not loose much muscle mass while dieting for the contest ? I know I can take BCAA before cardio in the morning or protein shake than some carbs and protein shake right after cardio than I go to school and I train about 4PM I take hydroxycut three times a day and I take L Glutamine with MSN 2 times a day usually with BCAA.

one bit of advice, keep your protein intake high, cut down on the cardio. if you are not losing bf every week, cut down on carbs/switch to carb cycling.

can you explain what is carb cycling ?
Is it like one day 180g of carbs the next 280g of crabs than i go back to 180g ?
So if I'll do 30 min of bike 3 times a week and I'll be loosing weight but not bf than should I lower my carbs ? Right now I have in my diet about 175g of carbs and 280g of protein. Calories are about 2100. My weight is 179lbs and fats are very low.

Every "body" is different. There's lots of ways to cycle carbs. But typically, you have two low days followed by one high day.

One thing, i think your calories are too low being this far out from your contest. As difficult as it may be, i'd still go into one of Layne's articles where he outlines diet etc. I do not know enough about nutrition/diets to really outline or give you a specific diet. I go to a dietitian who does all that for me. Or get on this website and start reading. You can also go to this site
http://beverlynutrition.com/6/ubb.x?cdra=Y&s=7436095412

Tons of info on diets and contest prep.
sorry i can't be more helpful
