not impressed. Wilkerson can squat it. And we all know you can deadlift more than you can squat raw, so we all know Wilkerson can take this record easy. My logic is flawless.

I saw this on another board, and it made me laugh:

I am here at the show covering it for rxmuscle.com and let me tell you, it was without a doubt the most impressive feat of strength I have ever seen. he opened with a 905 and went to 1010. the problem was with the plate structure, they could not get the clamps on the end. they only had about 1" of bite for a 4" collar. so, there was enough room to fit the collar if they went to a 35 only on the end, which took it to 1015. he shrugged and said; OK! he had much more in him with that pull. it came right off the ground and never lost momentum. this will be the video of the year in the strength community.....

I was competing at this competition, and it was amazing to see this lift in person. Originally Bennie requested 1010, but they couldnt fit it on the bar. Doing 1015 would fit because it required no small plates, leaving room for the heavy duty collars. When they asked him if 1015 was ok, he just kind of shrugged and said ok like it was no big thing.....kind of like he had done the same weight many times before so he didnt care(haha). After the lift he didnt even look tired.

I remember quite a while back there was discussion of the newly announced Andy Bolton deadlift meet someone posted how Benni liked to beat records by a significant amount, not just 1 or 2 lb's, well he managed that pretty easily, what was his raw record at the bullfarm, 973.5? So this is a 41.5lb increase on the previous raw world record if I'm not mistaken.

It's just counter intuitive to think that Benni would exercise modesty when attempting to break a world record but then you look at the video and think he could have done more.

Is it modesty? Or just a unique training and competition style?

Did he seriously just hold onto 575 for 22 reps without straps and periodically pausing at the top? Amazing grip strength. That's almost as impressive as the 1015 deadlift itself.
