    Pretty sure the 5-6 meal a day theory was proved to be broscience. Building muscle increases metabolism

    • Keep the deficit moderate (500 calories) - if you go overboard, you *might* negatively impact your metabolism, and you *will* have a harder time getting good workouts in.
    • Get plenty of protein (muscle sparing, thus metabolism sparing).
    • Most decent thermogenics will increase metabolism. So will coffee.
    • Drink plenty of water - not metabolism boosting per se, but a good idea.
    • Eat properly!!!
    • Work out (lift, plus some cardio).
    • Check your results, mix it up as needed.
    • Read the m-f-ing stickies. ;-)

    i would add the eating 6 meals a day helps with hunger more than anythng. For me its good for that reason alone i find i dont get sugar cravings at all that way or low energy
