After working out for 3 years, I've dropped my body weight from 268 to 172. Upon retirement, I decided that it would be a good idea to see a cardiologist twice a year for checkups as I did not have a Primary Care Physician. Blood work and all the tests were fine. He told me that I was in excellent health except for the fact that it was apparent that I was fat and lazy. That was all the motivation that I needed. I'm currently 71 years of age and hoping to compete in my first show in July. Am lucky in that I have no health issues and have never been on any prescription meds. I started working with a nutritionist in January and am on a customized meal plan with supplements which changes every month.

I was up to 260 6 months ago to this day, and I weighed myself last Tuesday at 236. Wow, I can't believe how much weight I'm losing. I laugh at people who are so obsessed with bulking up. I know some people who actually believe that being big equates to being strong. I ran 3 miles to the gym, caught my breath in the sauna and did a blistering dead lift workout. I couldn't believe how much energy I had to do that.

About 35 pounds since late January. It seems pretty fast, but the groundwork was really laid 2 years ago when I started doing CrossFit, and then moved on to 5/3/1 lifting 9-10 months ago. I've basically been adding muscle while maintaining weight for almost the entire time, and just finally starting losing weight recently.

I've lost 155lbs in the last 3 yrs. Walking up stairs without knee pain, doing simple things or fitting into theatre seats, through turnstiles were all things that were difficult before. (I still turn sideways in a turnstile out of habit lol) While I hate to look at my before pictures or think about how difficult life was, I have to take responsibility for having gotten that way. Today I can do things I never thought I would do again and am in better physical shape than I was as a teen/college athlete. When I lift 50lbs and walk with it, it's hard to believe how much more I was carrying around. I still have more to lose so it should only get better from here.
Don't make excuses and stay positive!

Lost 20(ish). May not be a lot while compared to some of the others in this thread, but it is noticeable in my lifestyle.
Pants sizes, shirt sizes -- losing weight is getting expensive damn it all !! if it isn't fast food it's new clothing. What gives ? lol.
I think the best feeling for everyone though, is when you carry something that is equal to your 'old' fat. For me, dumbells between the feet during pull ups brings that up..--

I commend anyone with the dedication it takes to lose bodyfat. I haven't lost as much as many others, however, I am proud of my accomplishments. I had 4 babies (all c-sections) in 5 years I went for years thinking I was just too busy taking care of everyone else to take care of myself. Finally woke up one day and realized the enormity of my mistake.
Since then I have dropped 27 lbs. Still have a long way to go, but it is no longer about the scale (I don't even own one anymore). Now it's just about seeing how far I can take my lifting and healthy habits, and about setting a good example for my kids...
...and it's something that I won't stop doing.______________________________
You either want it or you don't...it's that simple.

Another former fat bloke here, enjoying the successes.
I have a holiday home (trailer ?) at the top of a massive hill, and used to be all hot and sweaty and knackered by the time I climbed up. Now I walk down and up for the newspapers just for fun.
This morning I went for my second ever spin class, 21km in 40 mins. I'd probably have died three years ago !
Don't mock me for trying spin, I am squatting and deadlifting 150kg as well !because fitness isn't coincidence

Yeah, that's me . That picture was taken last week.
ive lost about 70 lbs in the past year and a half. my stomach is my only trouble area now. did you have some lose skin on the gut for awhile?? im wondering if ill be able to get my stomach tight again naturaly?
I was also disappointed in how my mid-section looked. It took another three months or so for the skin on my torso to tighten up. I was lucky that I hadn't really damaged it.
I have the whole journey of what I went through in the Transformation feature Bodybuilding.com did on me last year if you are interested:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/stev...f-his-life.htm
The editor who wrote the title only accounted for 36 pounds of weight loss since the feature is from the time I started lifting again until the time the article was posted and I had added some lean mass.

Gratz again to everyone posting...amazing results! Very impressive.
I was wearing my weighted belt and ankle weights (25# total) yesterday while doing dips and walking around the house between sets thinking it's no wonder I'm feeling so much better. Heh, I think this last 15ish pounds is going to be rough though.Eat, Sleep, Lift...Repeat!
