The only world class runners that train barefoot are the occasional africans that grew up running barefoot to school everyday. In reality the best runners do not train barefoot.

Vibrams has a model named after an Olympic athlete, as he was known for his barefoot running style.

Most SERIOUS runners just go straight barefoot.

Really, serious runners like you? Try watching the Olympics or the world track and field championships and tell me how many athletes you see barefoot or in vibrams.

3. They are ineffective. No professional athlete wears vibrams. Randy Moss was paid to do a commerical for vibrams; that doesn't mean he wears them on the football field. Just because Shaq did a commerical for coke doesn't mean he only drinks coke.

ALTHOUGH, you do bring up an interesting point. That other guy posted army special forces and Navy SEALs supposedly wearing 5-fingers. If the military has a contact with Vibram, that is clearly why the soldiers are wearing them. They are just wearing what they have been supplied with.

A lot of people switch to barefoot shoes to cure their plantar fasciitis.

The support and cushioning on regular shoes teaches your feet to be lazy and weak, causing most modern feet / lower leg joint ailments.
