So quinoa is really nutritious and good i heard.
My quinoa was really bitter and had a tart flavor. Was gross. Found out you should wash quinoa. Do all of you buy pre washed quinoa or is it a regular thing to wash it before you cook? seems difficult :P

Thats odd, I have been eating it for the last year or so and haven't had that issue. I usually put it in w/ brown rice (1/2 and 1/2) and cook for 45minutes in my rice cooker. Never washed it before.
Maybe it was out of date or something?

i use to eat alot of oatmeal...but now quinoa is my life lol

love Quinoa...but its not all that tasty on its own (to me)
I mix it in come curry sauce and chicken, I use it like rice.

throw in some garlic seasoning or mrs dash or even chile powder thats what i do!
i also tend to mix it with beans which is really good tooUbby 86

only reason i guess is some chemicals or something that is on the quinoa. Thats what gives it that flavor. I think i just chose a bad brand. I guess ill wash it until its gone and try a different brand. I got it from costco. It tastes fine when i wash it. And its not expired either
