going to a "barn sale" in the middle of fukkin nowehere tomorrow. I watched alot of american pickers so might know a few things of what to look out for, but feelsbadman cause I know theres gotta be alot of valuable chit in there Im gonna overlook. Garage sales and thrift stores have always treated me well though. I could spend hours and hours at these things looking then checking prices on ebay on my phone

I have the opportunity to buy a large lot of Coca Cola collectibles. over 1,000 pieces for $1800.
I am on the fence, its a ton of stuff to push and list however can be very rewarding once I get everything listed into an eBay store.eBay buy & flip crew

I want to but I want to make sure it will be profitable.
Lots of small stuff.
thinking of listing 10-20 items per day for 5 days each week.
that would be 75 per week @ avg 15 per day.
So I would be listing 300 items per month at the very least.
Would start up an eBay store and would have everything buyitnow or make offer.
Im really on the fence with it. Its about a 30-45 minute drive. 30 total boxes.eBay buy & flip crew

Not sure if I shared this one before, but it is a good part of the money I make online. Flipping olympic weights. It doesnt get any easier than this since the prices never fluctuate and condition hardly ever matters. Buy for .20-30 cents/lb and sell for .50+cents. This hasnt changed in the last 4 years that ive been doing it.
The average set thats sold is 2-45s, 2-35s, 2-25s, 4-10s, 4-5s, olympic bars are a bonus. 270 pounds total, and can easily be fit into a small cars trunk. Thats an easy $50 profit. The bigger the lot of weights, the more money youll make when you break it up. The most profitable way to doing this is buying on ebay and selling on craigslist. Very limited audience on ebay viewing weights because obviously they cannot be shipped, so prices are absurdly low when there is no reserve
great thread if interested

guy bought the whole set for 100, ended up selling the rack alone for $100, and kept the weights for free. Could have been sold for $150+ profitLast edited by gravtopp; 08-30-2012 at 11:53 AM.

Nice find on the weights!
What do you guys think about pre-ordering the Black Ops 2 "care package" edition? Think it will sell out?
I see the borderlands 2 collectors pack was sold for $150 and is now going for $300 on ebay.
What do you guys think? I'm guessing its just a game where you have to hope they will sell out?

My auction clearly says no returns, someone bought a youth large tee shirt and they said they mis-read the description and thought it was an adult large tee shirt.
They are asking if they can return it, am I pretty much obligated to take the return just to avoid a neg. I have 100% feedback and dont want to risk a neg. If i do take it back wont I take a lost for original shipping cost?

customer service -> resolution centre -> i want to cancel a transaction -> look up item -> buyer has address i don't ship to -> refund money in paypal -> block buyer -> pray to jebus that they cancel the transaction or you'll still have to pay the fees
it's against ebay policy to do feedback extortion (i'll neg you unless you give me what i want). tell them that they are not allowed to return it. if they open a paypal claim call up paypal and show them the messages and the auction where it says "no returns." paypal rep told me this puts the odds in a seller's favour to win a case.
it has to say no returns in the shipping and payments tab and the auction listing. if the auction listing says no returns but the shipping and payments tab says returns accepted then you will lose the case 100%. both have to say no returns for you to have a chance at winning.
if you take it back you will lose all your shipping money unless your auction says 15% restocking fee for items purchased by mistake or something like "shipping charges will not be refunded in the case of a return/refund."

the shirt was just $10 dollars. I told her to refuse the package when she receives it, and if it gets back to me I will refund her money. I will just have to take a $2 loss on the original shipping.
The auction clearly says no returns in all the proper areas. But I need to avoid a possible neg, I dont sell a high volume of stuff so one neg could really effect me.

Are you guys going to load up on the new iPhone and resell on eBay? That always seems to work with the new design launches when they get tough to find

somewhat staged, but its real to a certain extent. The guy who had the sale was straight out of this show though. He wandered around the entire time bitchin at ppl that things werent for sale, and prices were ridiculously high for certain things. He had 4-6 really nice schwinn bikes inside and the rest outside were chitty so I didnt even bother with that since idk much bout them. Saw a milkcrate of 5 and 10lb standard plates that I wasnt gonna bother flipping, just buy for self and add to DB collection, but he wanted $40 for not even 100lb. Was bout to gtfo then I saw 5 40x60" and 2 18x36" metal picture frames and he let me have them for $50.
I never would have thought they were of value, but a few months ago I was building a home theater and wanted to frame some authentic movie posters. Turns out a standard movie poster frame 27x40"(big market for these) goes for ~$50. Idk the market for a 40x60 frame but worst case I cut the frame to 27x40 and can be sold asap. The 40x60 generic murals that were inside the frames should get my money back alone on ebay, frames are profit on craigslist. Should see $150-200 profit from these. Waking up early tomorrow and doing some garage sale rounds
Another tip ill share since ive gotten lots of good ideas itt. I buy an apparel item cheaper in a certain store that costs about 50% more on ebay. So what I do to save some money is buy gift cards on ebay. Ill never pay more than 85% of the face value of them. so for a $100 gc ill pay $85. Sure its only $15 but its barely any work and I buy a ton of them to use in store to buy products I put right back on ebay. Plus you earn ebay bucks for buying the giftcardsLast edited by gravtopp; 08-31-2012 at 07:45 PM.
