I knew before ordering the rack the pull-up bar would be very close to my ceiling height (87") and the rack is (84"). When doing a pull-up on the powertec rack I can only get half my head above the bar and don't feel like i'm getting a full stretch. After researching on this forum I've read a couple options, but I'm looking for more..
1.) Flip the bar upside-down (tried this, but it's awkward getting in and out of the rack)
2.) Custom fabricate one w/ pipe (Good option, but the diagram I found makes the bar higher)
3.) Bar pullups
4.) ??? Any ideas ???

you can do a similar option to #2 without making it higher. just get the plumbing pipe and lay it across the uprights. then find some kind of clamp to hold it in place...maybe could be done with a U clamp.
Other possibilities might be using zip-tie fasteners going diagonally over the pips and posts. If you get the right size pipe and use butt-caps anyway, you can probably get it quite a tight fit and with some other small measure like a zip tie, clamp, (or chain)...it won't be going anywhere.
there's also probably some way to make a minor mod to the design for #2 to get it to go out horizontally in front of the rack insead of up higher.

Promaxima has a pullup bar that hangs on there cages. You could probably build something similar if your handy with a welder.

Well if you want to contact Wes just email him from their website. All he needs to know is how much space there is between your uprights. He will ship the bar to you, I know he made one already for a Powertec rack and shipped it to another member.

If you want to hire someone in your area just try and find a local welder or fabricator.[]---[] Equipment Crew #26 []---[]

No I meant to upload some pics of it but I picked it up right before we moved and just never got around to it. It looks exactly the same as the one NoKittyNo posted.
You should, he is a really nice guy and is very helpful. TSS is not a very big company so you may need to be a bit patient with getting it but it is definitely worth it, I love mine.
The bar does not bolt on, it just sits on the top of your rack, you can tell from the thread posted how it works. He only needs the one measurement.
Yep thats it.
I will try and post some additional pics of it if I think about it tonight when I am home.[]---[] Equipment Crew #26 []---[]

I injured my wrist and doing pullups on a straight bar is painful so I made this adjustable parallel grip pullup bar. The handles are fully adjustable to any width you want. I also added some shorter pipes on the end as plate holders for my smaller plates.
Since I weigh 205, the pipes alone whips a little so I added 2 solid steel 3/4 rods into the pipes to reinforce its strength. Now, I feel much safer doing weighted pullups.

Ah height issues suck! I know I couldn't have my lat tower so I took it and just strapped the hell out of it to an iron pole we had dry walled in the basement.
If height is an issue.. I dont know, if there is some sort of customizing TSS(Wes) could do to mount it underneath the top rails. It could be plausible.. Somehow.. Like, some mechanism that is like a J-Hook that could move in and out, then rack the .. bar ontop... I am not sure. I know I did the weighted barbell across the top for a while, or even as a member suggested the rings for body weight exercises.
(PS. Jimbo I am glad you got one too, isn't it great? Love my TSS Monkey Bar, it makes me smile.. small center piece of my HGym).

I just thought of another diy idea which I bet would work. Get a length of chain from your hardware store and some plumping pipe big enough to pass the chain through. Fasten the chain with caribiners on one side of the rack, let it slack down to the height you want, then feed the pipe through the chain. Take the chain out on the other side and fasten to the other side of the power rack.
It would have some wiggle, but it would certainly work. Plus, you could get whatever thickness pipe you want if you want a 'fat bar'.

That first pic is actually my rack in my old garage gym. I'm 5'10 and it didn't make it awkward going in and out. My friend was 6'2 and would just bend over slightly. He told me it didn't bother him.
You could go to a welder with the pullup bar piece and with a picture of a plan of a bar shape you want and he could make it for you based off the measurements of the pullup bar part.
