12 Weeks 'Til Future Hot Mama
Hello! I've been stuck between 195-205 since I joined this site in 2009. I am ready to push myself and get some real results!
Diet:
I am following Weight Watchers. Wait!!! I ask one thing, that you please respect my eating plan. I've counted calories for the past 1 1/2 years only to discover I cannot be trusted. I need accountability, so that is why I joined Weight Watchers in January 2011.
Training:
I'll be doing Lee Labrada's 12 week lean body challenge
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/lee-...y-trainer.html
Supplements:
Jack3d - for pre-workout (it's being shipped now)
ON 2-1-1 Recovery - for post-workout
One-A-Day Women's Multivitamin (I need to invest in a new one soon though since I am almost out)
My weight watcher weigh-in days are Monday afternoons so I'll be posting my weekly loss every Monday which is also the start of a new week for my workout program.
Starting Weight For My Transformation: 188.4 lbs
Bodyfat: 39%
Goal for this challenge: Lose 25 lbs.
Before photos are on my bodyspace.

Day 1
Today's workout was back and biceps. I did an underhand lat pull down, bend over dumbbell row, standing barbell curl and alternate dumbbell curls. I was really feeling it on my back sets but my bicep sets were a bit weak.
After my training was 30 minutes of interval training on the elliptical. I busted out 350 calories.
I'm not sure if I will post my eating log unless people actually care to see it. Even though I am tracking weight watcher points, I am also tracking protein to see how much I am getting in. Today I have had 83g of protein.
My back is feeling a little sore tonight so I imagine it will be sore tomorrow. lol

Good job bustin it on the cardio!
Protein seems low for your bodyweight. Is there anyway to implement a little bit more into your diet that falls within Weight Watchers?

Well, to be honest, I could have squeezed in a small amount more. I had 3 points left after dinner last night but I used them for 3 girl scout cookies (thin mints) since I had not had anything sweet since Saturday night. I was craving! I could have had a small yogurt instead and that would have provided another 11g of protein for the day.
I also had made spaghetti for dinner last night and although I was able to figure out the nutrition value per serving, I am sure my protein to carbs ratio were out of whack by having more carbs instead of the protein per serving. I could just tell as I was looking down at my plate that I probably only had a total of 3 oz of lean ground beef last night when I should have probably been eating 5oz worth.
Which by the way, spaghetti was not the best choice. I try and watch my sodium intake because I am quite sensitive to it and it will definitely reflect on the scale the next day. This morning my hands feel slightly swollen and my weight is 189.8. So that's about +1.2 pounds up from yesterday.

Well it sounds like you know what you are doing overall, it is just getting over that hump of constantly being on top of your game and practicing what you know. One night of spaghetti is no big deal in terms of the entire journey, but strive to make yourself better each day.
I also had 2 thin mints with my yogurt last night for an extra 80 cals, haha!!!! Damn those are good!
Keep it up and you have the support you need on here! Get after it this week!

Yea those are the best cookies! I only have 1 more box stashed in the pantry and hoping I can stretch them out!

Day 2
This morning's training was brutal. It was chest, shoulders and triceps. I didn't feel up to doing chest presses on the bench rack station (not sure what you call it) because there are always guys hovering either around it or looking as though they are resting between a set. So instead I did cable crossovers (youch!) and incline flyes.
Here's what I did today:
Chest-
Cable crossovers 10 x 12, 12, til fatigued at about 15
Incline flyes warm up with 7.5 x 12, 12.5 x 12, 10, fatigued at 13
Shoulders -
Seated dumbbell press warm-up 7.5 x 10, 12.5 x 10, 10, fatigued at 12
Arnold dumbbell press warm-up 7.5 x 10, 10 x 12, 12, fatigued at 10
Triceps -
Bench dips 12, 12, 15
Barbell triceps extension warm-up 7.5 dumbbells x 10, 20 barbell x 12, 12, fatigued at 20
I immediately felt sore even before I made it over to the stretch area of the gym. I stretched out good and the soreness seems to be coming on stronger as the day passes. I know tomorrow is not gonna be pretty. lol
I was gonna do cardio today afterwards, even though Lee says since this workout is brutal no cardio today, I didn't wanna feel guilty for skipping an extra day to burn more calories. But after BellaValerina's (Check out her fat loss thread) suggestion of not doing it; I decided to listen to her advice.
When I did the P90x program, I used ON 2-1-1 Recovery post-workout and noticed very little soreness. I am thinking I am gonna need an additional supplement of BCAA because the 2-1-1 recovery has something like 14g of BCAA per serving. Any suggestions for the soreness?
I have about 300 calories left for the day (which is 6 weight watcher points) and trying to decide what to snack on. I am craving something sweet but I am only at 73g of protein for the day so I am thinking I either need to have a Caesin protein shake or 2 TBSP of peanut butter with an apple sounds good.

Day 3
Today's weight: 189.8 Same as yesterday
The word for the day is "Pain".
I woke up twice in the middle of night in which I had to move around in bed and I could feel the pain of the body aches. I knew today was not gonna be any better. Been completely sore all day. I tried to drink a lot of water and after tonight's interval cardio, I made sure to stretch out really good again.
I tried a new Gaspari Nutrition Myofusion flavor, Banana Perfection. It was pretty tasty! It tastes like Banana Cream Pie!
I also got my Jack3d today so gonna start off with 1 scoop tomorrow before my training session to see what it does. Tomorrow's workout is legs (quads, hamstrings and calves) and abs. I'm both excited and afraid!
Workout:
30 minutes of interval training on the Precor machine with 5 minutes cool down
Diet:
I ate exactly 30 WW points which comes out to 1,486 calories for the day.
I ordered Xtend and it should be coming next Monday or Tuesday, so I am hoping that helps out with the soreness.

First of all - YOU ARE DOING AWESOME! So happy you started a log. Def subscribing! Are you planning on logging everyday? I hope so. You motivate me!
I know what you mean about men being all over the bench press machines. Although I'm def strong enough to bench on my own, I bench press in my home gym just so men don't watch me. I stick to the cybrex machines for chest at the gym or I do Jackie Warner's power circuit dvd (cost $10) and she has awesome at home chest exercises with dumbells.
Lee's program always makes me sore. I guess that's why I'm also getting leaner and stronger! I think its the going to failure aspect of the program on top of working out 7 days a week (which I have yet to hit but I'm trying!!). I take BCAA's before my workout mixed with the Jack3d (same flavors) and then 5g of L-glutamine afterwards in my shake. I'm still really sore but I know it's helping me recover. You'll love the jack3d. It gives you this tingle feeling (Its the AKG in it) that just hypes me up for the gym. Def have better pumps and less muscle fatigue as well.
Good luck with the leg work out. Def a day not to do cardio after. I sweat more doing legs than I do during my 30 mins of HIIT cardio. ITS THAT HARD!!!
Casein protein shakes will help at night if you have points left and you're still hungry. They're creamy and digest over 8 hours If you ever need supplement suggestions let me know! I feel like I've tried so many different things.

BTW - don't beat yourself up about your slight weight gain. Its all muscle inflammation. Your muscles are being flooded with water to heal themselves. Just make sure you're getting enough protein and drinking as much water as possible!

Yes, I plan on logging everyday. Especially since I am now thinking about nixing weight watchers and counting calories/macros. I just got billed for the month of April for WW though, so I may just stick it out for another month first.
I can't wait for my Xtend to come in to see if that helps with this soreness. I expected some soreness but this is whack! lol
I am actually relieved there is no cardio today. lol

Oh good. I'm glad you explained that to me because I am the exact same weight again today! 189.8! Kinda frustrating since I would have hoped to have dropped a pound by now or almost a pound.

The more water you drink, the more water you'll excrete. So technically if you drink a lot of water, you'll hold less water. You should take your measurements too if you haven't already. I know I compare my results by: 1. weight on the scale 2. BF % 3. progress pictures 4. measurements 5. people's comments 6. how my clothes fit.
The scale can be VERY discouraging and not a real measure of success. ;/
I'm sore for DAYS girlie. I know how much is sucks. Thats why I totally ingest tons of BCAAs and L-glutamine.

Yea, think the pictures and measurements are the way to go as better signs of fat loss.
So weird that by this evening my arm and chest soreness is completely gone but now I feel my lower back starting to ache. Ironic because today was legs and abs so I expected my glutes to be killing me by now!

Day 4
Weight: 189.8
Today was a pretty good workout. I got to try out my new Jack3d in Grape Bubblegum flavor. I took one scoop about 40 minutes prior to my training. I didn't experience the tingling sensation that is said to have happened and I would say that I only had minimal super focus for the first 30 minutes of my training. However I did notice that I was able to do 120 lbs for my sets on the leg press where as last week 95 was my limit. And I was able to go to 27 reps for my failure. So that's pretty good. I'm gonna try 1.5 scoops for tomorrow's training and see if I notice anything different. I just might not be sensitive enough. I've been known to drink a grande coffee an hour before bed and fall asleep with no problem.
I was sore when I woke up this morning but after my training today and stretching out, yesterday's soreness disappeared. It could be my water intake too. I drank 56 ounces of water today. That's about twice as much as I normally drink. lol Hopefully I see a loss on the scale tomorrow because of that.
Training: Legs and Abs
Leg Press machine - 75 x10, 120x12, 120x12, 120x27
Dumbbell lunges - 5x10, 7.5x10, 7.5x10, Right leg 7.5 x27, Left leg 7.5x29
Leg Curls - 60x10,75x12,80x12,80x30
Straight leg barbell deadlift- 20x10,30x12,30x12,30x32
Seated calf raise machine - 20x12,20x12,20x12,20x35
Standing calf raise machine - 75x10,90x12,90x12,90x15
Crunches w/legs up on exercise ball - 12,12,12,78
Lying leg Raises on bench - 12,12,12,21
Diet: Ate 1,268 calories, 126g protein, 133g carbs, 33g fat, 14g fiber
If I was going by weight watchers points all that would have put me over my limit by 5 WW points.
I went ahead and decided to cancel my WW membership but since I paid for April, I'll still go to my weigh ins etc for the next month and follow the plan as closely as possibly but I plan on counting calories and watching my macros more closely.
I did discover that I am slowly building more confidence. Not by the weight I have already lost but just in life in general. I have a lot of weight training hang ups. Mainly that I am totally intimidated by 90% of the equipment. For example when I saw last night that I was going to have to do my AB work on a workout bench I totally feared that because I knew I would be right in the shark tank (surrounded by testosterone) so I was going to find alternative ab exercise to do it prevent me from having to use a bench but I just got over it and went and used the bench. It wasn't so bad, maybe it was the Jack3d that got to me and I overcame! haha
Another fear was using that seated calf machine. I was fearful about how much weight to load up to it and where I get the plates from etc but I overcame that too and just did it. So proud of myself! hehe
Tomorrow is back and biceps again.

WHERE DO I START!!!! Your log is basically well...PERFECT. I think your choice to venture off WW is a good idea only because WW uses an imaginary points system that makes some really good food choices almost off limits. Plus there program doesn't have enough protein or essential fatty acids for muscle synthesis. If you get used to tracking your macros, you can make a diet a lifestyle IMO. I've been overweight my whole adult life and this time I'm doing things different. AND ITS WORKING! I just have a feeling you are going to have amazing results - probably even better than mine!
To get your fat intake up, ever think about eating a tablespoon of nut butter (like peanut butter or dark chocolate dreams?) or taking fish oil capsules? I saw you tried the Myofusion Banana. What did you think? Did you mix it with water? Hope you're taking a multi-vitamin. I love GNCs Women's Ultra Mega (with iron) or Opti-Woman by Optimum Nutrition.
We do the exact same weight for lunges! 7.5lbs dumbells (15lbs total) really tortures my quads and hams. I also change the program around to exercises I am comfortable with. As far as being familiar with the machines, remember you don't have to be in a rush. I take a lot of time reading the machine diagram, looking up exercise form on the bb.com exercise video library, or simply watching other people use the machine in the gym. Sometimes it takes me a while to adjust the machines to fit my body as well. You'll get it in no time!
As far as your lower back feeling sore, MINE DOES TOO! I notice it more after I do deadlifts. I know my lower back is weak but it'll get stronger in time.

Thanks Val! I actually am not afraid to switch back to counting calories. The main reason why I went back to WW was because I needed accountability but I guess this log is gonna be my accountability now! I also just started realizing how important more protein and complex carbs was going to be necessary for me to get better results. I would have hate to have gone through all this hard work to just get mediocre results. I no way wanna end up being skinny fat. Especially since I am already seeing sagging skin on my belly and I know that filling the body with muscle will help me look more natural. I want to be athletic looking!
I was taking One A Day multivitamins but ran out 2 days ago. I did order ON's Opti for women, so should be here Monday or Tuesday.
Funny you should mention peanut butter. I actually had a tablespoon spread on a banana last night as dessert. Was pretty tasty! I figured I deserved that after passing up a homemade chocolate cake last night that a friend made.
I love the Myofusion Banana. Myofusion always comes out rather frothy, but I like it. So this tastes just like banana cream pie to me. I mix mine with water. I've also tried the chocolate peanut butter one (tastes more like peanut butter popcorn. It's ok by not my favorite) and I've tried the Strawberry Cream one. It's probably a toss up between strawberry and banana because I like them both. The strawberry tastes EXACTLY like a McDonald's strawberry milkshake, no joke!
Yea, I think my lower back was feeling sore from the deadlifts. I saw a pregnant woman doing deadlifts with a 40lb barbell and she lowered the bar all the way down to her ankles and here I was next to her with 30 lbs going just past my knees. lol I dunno if she felt like she had to one-up me or something like "Look at me! I'm preggos and I can lift more and do a harder exercise than you!" That's what it felt like because she literally came and stood right next to me when there was plenty of room for her to stand anywhere else she wanted in front of the mirrors.

We can be eachothers accountability. We're on the same program with the same overall macro needs (I need mine to fall into the 1200-1500s calorie range with high protein). I told myself NO CHEATING before April 30 so I'll be right there with you the whole way.

I think keeping one another accountable would be a fantastic idea!
My calorie needs according to myfitnesspal.com (100x better than fitday IMO) says that I also need 1200-1500 calories but I really wanted to fine tune how much I should be eating so I used Total Metabolism Forecastor and it told me that I should be eating 1,353 calories a day. So that's what I am trying to aim for. It also said my protein should be 137g a day. that seems rather high and hard for me to hit. I couldn't quite make that yesterday so I guess if I can hit between 115-120g, I'll be happy with that.
Also, I am loving myfitnesspal's Applet for my Droid. It has a large database! I have yet to find a food it didn't have yet. It has all of my protein supplement brands and varieties included too! It really is gonna make it easier for me to keep track of calories and macros.
Wow, no cheating til April?! You got some will power! I think I may re-feed on Saturday and on Easter Sunday I plan on eating some chocolate!

Future Hot Mama
Day 5
weight: 189.4 (-0.4 from yesterday)
Training: back & biceps
Underhand lat pull down - 55x12, 70x12, 75x12, 75x15 (I attempted underhand pullup on the pullup machine with assistance and I couldn't even do one) haha I am so weak!
Row machine (cybrex) - 70x12, 90x10, 85x12, 85x19
Hyper-extension bench with holding a weight plate - 10x12, 10x12, 10x12,10x20
Concentration curl - 7.5x12,12.5x12,12.5x12, right arm 12.5x20, left arm 12.5x15
arm curl machine 15x12, 15x12, 15x12, 15x12 (this machine only has 15 and then 30lbs is the next plate up so not sure how I am gonna get my biceps stronger with this exercise.)
Interval cardio on the bike with pedals in front of your body - 30 minutes burned 351 cal
Diet: 1,373 calories, protein 100g, carbs 192, fat 22g, fiber 12g
Protein was a bit low today but I had to drive my son to his dad's this afternoon/evening which is a 5-5 1/2 hour round trip for me so I ended up eating subway for dinner on the road. I still had 100 cal left and I wanted something sweet so I ate 1/3 of my new Labrada lean body bar's Cookie Twist. It was pretty tasty even though all my bars had melted in the 92 degree heat!
I am looking forward to trying out Scivation Xtend on Sunday (my next training day) because it is said to help reduce soreness and fatigue. I just got it today and am so excited!
I also got another sample of 1MR so I am gonna be trying that out on Sunday as well.
So far 1.5 scoops of Jack3d is doing nothing for me. I never felt any tingles today. The only thing I felt was my ears started itching for like 10 minutes straight about 30 minutes after taking it. I'm gonna try 2 scoops of it first but I am thinking maybe I am gonna need 3 scoops or it just isn't gonna work for me. I may try and return it or of not, see if I can swap someone it here on the forums.

I take 3 scoops of Jack3d no problem. I have a huge stimulant tolernace and it def does the trick. Don't try NOexplode by BSN if you try something else out. It smelled like poppouri and tasted like poision on top of not working. I also tried Controlled Labs White Flood and it didn't do anything for me. I would look into Black Powder (not sure of the brand but it seems really powerful by the label ingredients.)
I lost 17lbs during my first 12 week challenge that was really just calorie controlled. Plus I took basically the whole last month off and maintained out of laziness. I bet you can do it if you stick to the program!!

Hmm, I am wondering if I should just not bother with doing 2 scoops tomorrow and just jump straight to 3 scoops then as well. I think I also have a huge resistance to stimulants.
I'm getting frustrated with not seeing a loss so far for the week. Today is Day 6 and I weighed in at 189.8, so back up +0.4 pounds. I'm drinking lots of water and doing very well with my diet this week.
Wondering if I should re-feed at maintenance today. Last week when I was still doing weight watchers I dropped -3 lbs and when I look at my average calories for each day, I was around 1,200 so I am wondering if my body is maybe thinking it's getting too little to eat. Also my fat was rather low yesterday. Gonna try and get it up higher today.
Maybe I am just being impatient too! Could just be my massive muscles that are getting ready to pop out are still inflamed with water.
Oh and I am loving myfitnesspal's applet for my phone. I can scan any food label and it comes up so I can easily enter it in my food log! I love this! Last night I scanned my Lee lean protein bar and voila...there was all the info!

I have to weigh in everyday out of habit. Everyone tells me not to but I need to see a number to gage my success. You could def play with your calorie level to see what works best for you. Just remember your protein and essential fatty acids are necessary for our bodies to function appropriately and carbohydrates are just a filler. So if you start cutting your macros, I would cut calories from carbs first. I really hate having 4 scoops of protein powder a day but the results are really starting to show (even though I miss my carbs )
Feel free to PM me anytime. I love hearing from you since we are basically spot on with the same program!!!

Unfortunately I love my carbs too but I am willing to cut back on them a bit to see if it will help.
I love hearing from you too. You are keeping me motivated and to push myself! I'll be sure to PM you anytime. Thanks!

Great job, keep on keeping on

Thanks zach! I am sure a lot of people are happy to see me ditch weight watchers. I don't wanna bash the program because it did jumpstart my weightloss again but in the long run I want to be lean and look athletic and with WW I would end up being skinny fat.

If you haven't already, check out paleo/caveman/warrior type diets. I don't buy into all of it, but much of it makes tons of sense, in my opinion. I loosely follow many of their guidelines
