    How long for Hardboiled Eggs

    Lets say I bring the water to a boil then put the eggs in..How long until finished?

    Put cold water and eggs in pot, turn on stove, 20 minutes later shut off stove. Perfect everytime.

    you can't drop a cold egg into boiling water, it'll crack right away

    put the eggs into cold water, and once it's boiling i give it ~15 minutes

    This is what I do. 9 XL eggs in a pot, barely covered in cold water. Stove on max, set timer to 20 minutes. dump eggs in cold water bath when alarm goes off. Perfectly cooked yolks that are still golden yellow but aren't chalky yet.

    Remember to use older eggs. They peel much easier.

    The cold water bath afterwards is good to keep the yokes nice and yellow.

    I prefer a softer yolk, so I cook my eggs only 4-5 minutes after they start to boil. Ice water bath after.
