Still at it? Pat yourself on the back!
I heard an interesting nugget @ the gym this morning. I overheard some of the employees saying that 6 weeks is how long the average new years "resolutionist" lasts before dropping out. So we're 5 weeks into the new year, it's going to be interesting to see who lasts in my gym and who doesn't! Personally, this is the first year that I've been consistant ALL year.
So while I'm sitting here mentally patting myself on the back, I thought I'd pass some around! If you've been at for more than a few months, pat away! If you can reach that is!

Funny you should say it's leg day, leaving the gym the girl at the desk said I look a little flabbergasted. I was kinda dazed i guess. Had to go home and sleep for an hour as well. Never had a leg day like today.

I've been consistent since 1974. Through tennis elbow, a torn rotator cuff, broken fingers. I was working out (barley) the week after I got out of the hospital (3 broken ribs, 2 fractured ribs, and a puntured/collapsed lung), last March. I doubt I've missed more than a handful of training days, over the years.
Maybe i'm not consistent, I might be an addict.

I have noticed it's a lot less crowded lately.

I've noticed the same thing. Some days it's practically empty, just like the good old days .

It's worth it for one month, they join, sign a one year contract, then don't show up after one month. They help subsidize the dues and keep them low for us serious types.
It's a great trade off if you ask me

After a year and a half, I'm still showing up and getting it done, thanks in part to the nice, supportive folks in the bb.com >35 forum.

Some don't make it that long. We had one guy join and pay for 6 months - He has never come once but I hear he is making good progress and may be in after football/hockey/basketball/baseball and bowling season.

there is no doubt right after newyears it got crowded as hell for a while, which i was expecting, but its tapering off now. altho some of the newyear resolutionists/post-holiday worker bees still show up on weekends to crowd the cardio machines.
hell ive been at it for over 9months now and im in it for the long haul baby. I hit a weightloss plateau 2 months ago, but i never gave up and i finally busted thru it!! (altho i also stepped up my intensity with weights and cardio)

I have seen a small influx of newbies at the gym, lot's of little old ladies actually. I gotta give them credit. Fortunately the gym is huge and there aren't that many members to begin with. I work rotating shift work so I have the advantage of going during the early morning.
