I'm done brahs. Time to use my American citizenship. Love my country but tired of having to prepare my anus for the government.
- Tired of 55% of my total income going to tax
- Tired of being in a profession I can make 20k more in the US
- 350k 800sq ft condo FTL
- Oh tax season? Have to pay more tax FML
- Being told I HAVE to use a certain insurance company and have my anus reamed
- Highest cost of living in North America, highest parking costs, 12% sales tax, toughest drunk driving laws
- Gas at $1.34/litre ($5 gallon?) even though it's our biggest export
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKK THIS! Not worth it anymore. I'm going to SD where I can ball out even though Americans call it expensive. I lolz when I hear that.

BS. Vancouver is NOT something special. Bunch of arrogant, self-righteous people who read these sh*t reports on best city in the world. Well 8 months of grey and rain, 8/10 people being asian (no racist) and bunch of rich corrupted foreigners can suck a dik.
You know nothing kid. This place ain't sh*t without the mountains and 2hr drive to Whistler.

I know brah. I LOVE SD. Going there in 4 months to scope out places with a Realtor. Crazy thing is I can afford to live in La Jolla with the cost of living here in Vancouver. I can afford up to 500k by myself and up to 800k with the gf.
SD is central to amazing vacation locations, sunshine, lower taxes, lower cost of living, better wages, guns etc etc.

Well, I do actually like most Americans. The Misc is different than most Americans I have seen. Many Americans seem to have strong opinions which aren't always their own thoughts, but in general I find Americans to be pretty welcoming and friendly. Depends where you go, the bible belt was fuked up, Florida was sweet, Oregon and Washington had nice people.
I have tons of family there and one of my parents is American, so I've spent lots of time in the US anyway.

Seems like a no brainer to me now. Met some cool people in Cancun from Santa Barbara and stay in touch with them. Been to Cali 5-6 times, loved SD. So much cool sh*t to do, stuff to buy and places to see. Vancouver is cool but seriously WTF can you do in the grey/rainy winters without forking up 2k for seasons passes to Whistler then drive 2hr each way. Fuk that, I would hop in my ride and go to Aspen Colorado if I want to ski and hit on bishes.

and Whistler doesn't have that great snow quality being so low either . The grey/rain in the pacific northwest is brutal.
I'm either going to stay in Seattle or head back to Socal or Portland. At least up here is still better than the rest of the ****hole of a country (apart from Austin and NYC).
From SD/LA you are so close to good skiing anyway- Taos, Utah, Tahoe.... ****, if there's snow on Baldy or Big Bear it's possible to ski and surf the same ****ing day. You can't beat that.

I could definitely use some advice. I've been posting on the city-data forums for information. My girlfriend would need either a TN Visa or a straight up dumping.
Mostly concerned with costs such as car insurance on a 2011 car, registration, income taxes, utilities, and hidden costs in California that I may not read about etc.
Jobs is not a problem. Sent out some resumes as feelers and got three replies for interviews.

Welcome to my city, bro. San Diego born and raised.
Living on the SD coast anywhere NORTH of Pacific Beach is amazing. Pacific Beach is alright, but the whole community is 20 somethings from another state trying to live the California beach dream. AKA party kids and frat boys.
There are a lot of Asians here, but to be fair, there's a lot of everything. Growing up I have met people living here from all over the world. There are also a lot of young professionals like yourself here so it should be easy to meet new people.
The women are fine. The food is good. The sky is blue. The weather is warm... It's got all you need.yucky yucky yucky yucky yucky all day

I just want to do what a canuck does....have BBQ's on the deck, play ice hockey, get swole, drink beer and walk my dog eh.
Any of you SD brahs ever go to Six Flags/Magic Mountain? Thinking about hitting that up when I come down. Any other suggestions? I want to check out Sea World, Balboa Park, the USS Midway, Coronado, La Jolla and chill at the beach.
One thing I love about the US is the gyms you guys have. We have Gold's and World's and all that stuff but US gyms always go above and beyond to get the fatties working out. First time I ever saw an air conditioned media room with full size movie screen for the fatties to do cardio in was in an American Gold's. I lol'd but it was pretty sweet.
