How long till protein powder expire?

I've been given whey protein about a year, maybe a year and a half ago. I've made probably 6~8 shakes out of it and just stopped taking them because I was too lazy to make a shake after my workouts.

Anyways, my protein container (is that what we call it?) has been in my kitchen closet for over a year now. The container is closed well, but I'm not sure if the powder is expired by now. At the bottom it says 10/08 10/11 but it doesn't say it's an expiry date or anything. Probably the production date?

I'm planning on using the powder before summer for cutting and I'm wondering, do you think it's safe to use it?

protein powders usually expire after a year

i would just go buy a new one its only like 30$ just to be safe

the risks arent worth it because whey protein powder will spoil

You're fine to use it...just smell it and if it smells and tastes okay then it's fine to use...if it tastes off then throw it away
Protein..especially if unopened can go a pretty good while over the expiration date

Yup lol. I usually just get home, shower quickly and eat whatever my mom prepared. I hate having to clean my shaker all the time and all that ****.

Anyways, I smelled the powder today and it smelled good so I made a shake and drank it. Seems like it isn't expired. I'm sure it lasts longer than a year.
