Got in a solid chest and back workout last night. I actually struggled more this week with it than I did last week, but it still felt great. I've got Plyo on deck again for tonight. Hopefully the legs recover faster this week than they did last week!

Well, Plyo is done for the week! I'm not feeling as fatigued this morning as I was during week 1, so I think my muscles are starting to get a little more used to being pushed. I haven't seen a change on the scale, but I'm not really focusing on that so much.

Not much change, just hitting workouts and following my keto plan. Work's been batsh!t crazy the last couple weeks and doesn't look like it's slowing up. I'll update when I can.

I hit 187 today! Now that I'm only two lbs from my initial goal, I can see that I still have a long way to go. There's probably around 20 lbs of fat that I need to lose. I think I'll adjust my goal to 175 for now and see where I end up.

I am glad to see you still on target and on your goals. I switched from keto to different style of eating. I did not go back to eating those high carbs foods, but basically only ate natural foods, oats, brown rice, veggies, chicken breasts, eggs, meats, so on and so forth. I am doing rather well I am down to 183 now. I shred 15 lbs in the past two and half months. Doing it nice and slow. I been working out three-5 times a week. Depends on work schedule and how tired I am. Diet is key man. I strongly feel a keto diet works well, I just had to switch up things for me. Keep up with it. Proud of you man and you will go far.

Thanks! At this point my motivation is through the roof. I love keto and see myself continuing on with a keto lifestyle even after I've hit my goals.

I ended up measuring myself this weekend. It turns out that I've lost 4" off my waist and between 3-4" off my belly area. My legs and arms have dropped quite a bit as well and I'm really beginning to become vascular.
I typically take the kids over to my Mom and Dad's on Saturdays to hang out for the day. Now, I reloaded the last three weeks and to be honest, they were dirty reloads. I've decided that I won't be reloading for another couple months because I want to focus on staying in ketosis and strip off as much fat as I can before summer. So, I get a text from my Mom telling me not to eat because she's bringing food for lunch. When she shows up she has my all time favorite ham n' cheese subs. I've been going to this place as a kid.......their homemade bread is off the chain. After unwrapping mine and staring at it for about two minutes, with pain in my heart......... I removed the guts, put them on a plate and set the bread to the side. Yeah, so........... I guess I'm motivated.

Alright, so I hit 186 this morning, which puts me 1 lb away from my initial goal. It also puts me about a week away from hitting up the gym Sundays and Mondays with my neighbor. Up until this point I have only worked out at home, so this will be a huge change for me......More than likely for the better.

I'm still trying to figure that out. I feel like I have about 20 lbs of fat left on my body, but I'm also 5'11", so 165 seems pretty low to me. I figure I'll set my next goal at 175 lbs and see how my body looks at that point.
My main goal is to cut to where I feel comfortable before I start a clean bulk.

Alright guys, so I just found a pic from May 2010, I was around 225 lbs. I figured that I'd show a before and after to give a better idea of where I've gotten up to this point. I can't find my very first pic from '07 yet when I was around 250 lbs, but if I find it I'll definitely post it.

Wow, awesome progress !! You should be proud
The scientific and practical amount of carbohydrate needed in the diet is ZERO -- NONE. Dietary carbohydrates are not a requirement in any body function. In fact it appears that the lower the carbohydrate level in the diet the better the long-term health. Age-related degenerative diseases are caused by high levels of carbohydrates in the diet. One can be on a very low or zero-carbohydrate diet indefinitely as has been shown by the study of many primitive societies.

Well, it looks like I had a little impromptu carb load this weekend due to the fact that......well, I decided to eat some Easter candy. Anyways, I'm going to hit it pretty hard this week in preparation of.....wait for it.....THE GYM!! So Sunday I will be hitting the gym with my neighbor for the first time since, well, I guess it was high school. Wow, that was a while ago!

I hit the gym tonight for the first time. What's awesome is that my buddy has a hookup with a property developer and he has unlimited use of a private gym. We blew out an arm workout that was freaking crazy. I know I'll be paying for it tomorrow.

Alright, so after Tuesday's arm workout, my arms are more blown out than a Jersey Shore haircut. Tonight it's going to be chest, which will be pretty interesting. The good thing about having a workout partner now is that we can push each other. In the past I have only had myself to depend on for motivation, which as everyone knows, it's easier to get one or two more when someone's there pushing you. Surprisingly I'm really looking forward to hitting it hard tonight. This is the first time in 5 years that I've lifted heavy, which is completely different than what I'm used to. Up until this point every weight workout that I've done has been more of an anaerobic circuit.....it's a nice change of pace. I'm focusing on heavy weight and low reps in order to build some mass. The one thing that will be difficult is that I'll have to make myself eat more, plus I have to make sure that I keep my fat intake up so I have energy for these big lifts.

i know what yopu mean about the workout partner, ive been working out with 2 other guys in my home gym in my garage now that its warm enough, before then i had problems with motivation, now even if they have to miss a workout i still go out and do it, its really helped me get my motivation back. glad to see your enjoying your experience, my advise to you, really focus on technique since your just starting out, propler technique really decreases the risk for injuries.

I agree. My buddy is really making me focus on form. I have to admit, after years of strictly light weight, high reps, it's humbling now that I've started lifting heavy. It's a whole different ballgame.

I worked out chest last night. We did a ton of dumbell bench work and a lot of deep flys. I'm already feeling it today, so tomorrow is REALLY going to be fun.

I almost forgot to mention that I had an awesome debate last night with my neighbor in regards to "what I'm eating". I've gotta say, I love Bro-Science! First of all, he has nothing but good intentions, which I can appreciate. It basically went this way....."Bro, you need to cut off carbs at noon and then go lean and green for the remainder of the day. That'll get you hayooooge." My response, My goal is to los fat and build muscle @ the same time. I'm working towards changing my body composition. "You'll never be able to do that eating the garbage you've been eating." Hahahahahahahahaha!!! Love it. I eneded the conversation with saying You do you're thing, I'll do mine....and we'll see where we end up.
For what it's worth, I will be carb loading every weekend and will be focusing less on the scale. I'll be tracking pics of my progress weekly. Back's tonight! Should be fun.

Today was shoulders. I've gotta say, I feel like I've been in a car accident after this week, but I'm loving it. I'll be interested to see how the rest of the week goes.

It's been a while since I've updated. I've been continuing on with my keto diet and have continued lifting heavy. Due to my reloads not being as clean as they could be, I'm still hovering around 185. For the next 4 weeks I am not going to reload in an attempt to boost my fat loss. After seeing my progress, my neighbor (my workout partner) has started keto. I told him that I'd eliminate reloads for his first four weeks while he gets his ketosis induciton phase out of the way.
