I have the newer model (which has slightly different steps to setup) and I CANNOT workout how to set the intervals to different time lengths. I can set up one uniform set of intervals, but that is it.
Any users out there who can advise?

Press and hold the two top buttons ("Change" and "Next") simultaneously until only the timer numbers remain on the screen.
Then release both buttons
Press the "Change" button. This will toggle the second interval timer on/off.
Press the "Next" button to make one of the timer digits flash, and then the "Change" button (if required) to change that digit.
Press "Next" again (as required) to select each of the values you wish to change.
If you go past the digit you wish to change you can press "Start" to go back, or continue all the way through ("Next", "Next", "Next", etc) to the end, and then begin again at the start (by pressing and holding both top buttons).
Hope that's clear.
