    How to gain weight

    im 16 and skinny,won't work until the summer,i dont even have enough money to go to the gym until i work. I have many dumbells at home tho.

    For the food,ill have to check the nutrition sub forum and see what's good.Ill spend 80% of my money into the grocery store i guess.


    But can i even gain anything with only dumbells?

    Just eat as much as you can and be consistant with working out. You'll gain weight.

    Reps doesn't matter too much. Just as long as your hitting the weights hard every time. Also good form > higher weights. Lift heavy enough that it's hard your body but not so hard that you have bad form.

    You mention 3x8. That's good as long as that last set is going to failure (or at least extremely close to it). Also, don't miss any meals. Even if you can't eat clean all the time, don't miss any meals.

    What I'm doing, that's not a terrible thing. I'd try to stay 6-8 to failure. Bottom line though, at your point, just stay consistent with your commitment to it, whatever your routine is. If you happen to have a spotter, and you fail at 4-5, they can help you get another couple reps too. Going to failure though is a good way to promote muscle growth.

If you happen to have a spotter, and you fail at 4-5, they can help you get another couple reps too. Going to failure though is a good way to promote muscle growth.

    Drink **** loads of beer.

    Go to the gym - no excuses.

    Eat all the time, mainly and most importantly whole milk. I make my own mix (idea off some dude on here) in the morning consisting of natural yougurt, whole milk, peanut butter, honey and almond nuts..must be 1000cals, 50g fat. Didn't do anything at first but now starting to see alot of weight gain.

    Keep with it your time will come and the weight will start dropping on you not off you.
