being an athiest is just the "in" thing to do nowadays that its hard to even admit your faith without having insults hurled at you. all i hear is how christians try to stuff our believes down peoples throats , while im having athiest beliefs stuffed down mine as if it makes anyone smarter to not believe in God (as if Ive never pondered about the stars, big bang, physics, and reality of a creator)

Im with u OP.

I wish I could believe in God. I just have to much of a scientific mindset. There is so much proof for science and almost no proof for God. I hear the word "faith" but essentially what that word means is to blindly accept something and dont ask questions.

I sometimes feel a group of geniuses (like those of the founding fathers) realized that humans were by nature savages and out of control and devised a plan to keep them peaceful... The result was the bible and God, something people would fear to behave.

All that being said I still thank "God" now and then for how fortunate I am. I also pray here and there. Even tho I dont necessarily think he exists its still comforting. Im hoping a day comes when I can believe.

Of course I'm scared It's only natural but there is nothing to be scared of. We have all been in a state of non-existence for billions of years before now, death is simply a way of going back to that stage again. Death is simply going back to what we were doing before.
