Star Wars: The Old Republic Official Misc Guild!

Such a shame. My buddy and I made a sith guild for this game 3 years ago, and lasted until release. We we're so amp'd up for it. I would be on swtor forums everyday reading rumors and watching the new updates weekly, gazing at the screenshots. A star wars MMO was a dream come true, but they screwed it up, they made it too much of a single player game. I have a question for you guys, mmo's like swtor and rift make it so when you're in a zone there are literally like 20 people max spread out, how does that feel "massively" at all? Are companies so cheap that they refuse to spend big money on good servers that can handle a lot of people in one area? Whenever I played rift and swtor it would feel so depressing seeing maybe like 1 or 2 people pass by me while questing...again, felt like I was just playing a single player game.

time to join Guild wars 2. In WvWvW (Real vs Realm vs Realm) you can get over 500+ players playing in the same map.

Yeah I've been on the GW2 bandwagon recently, going to play that for sure. I really wished there was a BWE this weekend but hopefully next.

After doing much reading I found the following things to be of main concern...
1. Servers are dead, after 6 months of release they still have the same amount of servers with a dying population, everybody has left their server and rolled on fatman. Because of low population the waiting times for warzones are over an hour, and finding a group is near impossible. So when you're left with no pvp, and no grouping to do flashpoints you end up logging and repeating the cycle, eventually not re-subbing.
2. No open world pvp
3. Too much of a single player feel - I can vouch for this, when I did play I would wander around by myself and maybe see 1 or 2 people pass by.

Solutions:
1. Get open world pvp going
2. Get rid of most of the servers, they'd seriously be fine with 10 and all 10 of them would be thriving. If the game pop is around 1 mil thats 100k per server, that means constant warzones, constant grouping for quests/flashpoints, open world pvp going on in all available zones and a return of that MMO feel.

This pretty much sums it up. The game is awesome, but there isnt a population to fuel it. It has AMAZING content, pretty fun raids, and the pvp maps are great aside from Novare Coast. Once they merge servers I will gladly give them my money. Right now it feels like KOTOR, which is awesome, but who the hell wants to pay 15 a month to play a largely single player game?

I can't believe how BW can call swtor an MMO when each server is only in the hundreds for population. If that's the case, imagine the number of players broken down in each zone, let alone each planet! The world is so huge but nobody to occupy it, such a shame.

lvl 50 powertech bounty hunter here,personally think the game is great! server is dead sometimes but pretty sure they are bringin out a group finger function AND server merging next patch

- quality game
- don't say its bad if you haven't played
- swtor are really great at listening to the community

I have a two month card that I'll be using probably once group finder etc is released. Will reroll on Fatman and play with misc. After that, GW2.

One of my friends recently got me started playing this game. I've never really been an MMO kind of guy before, but it seems okay for now. The monthly payments seem kinda high, but I guess time will tell if it's worth it or not. Currently a level 17 Sith inquisitor (since my buddy is a melee type).

I was going to get Diablo 3, but now I'm not sure after all the bad press about it. It seems like they killed a lot of the features that made D2 great, and I played the crap out of D2. I needed something else to satisfy my game cravings.

The long term goal is for the games population to be packed into several "super servers" capable of sustaining thousands per zone at a time. Server transfers WILL be a free function in 1.3. As of now there will be a NEW guild forming on The Fatman and I have guest passes for anyone looking to try out the game

So they're already making the F2P experience not worth it. This game is something else. Limiting the field revivals, increasing quick travel cooldown, etc.
