    Question Crossfit Stereotypes?

    so how are cross fit people viewed as?

    i only know one person who does cross fit at my school. after seeing and hearing some things about him and vids of workouts/exercises and form, all i have to say is notsureifsrs...

    i just want to see if the stuff i think about him and cross fit match what other people think.

    i didnt even say anything bad about cross fit so calm down. and i even stated in the OP that i only know one person who does it. i didnt generalize or anything. and in some cross fit vids, some guys actually have pretty good physiques for not specifically bodybuilding. and the girls have very nice athletic bodies, srs.

    from the vids ive seen, it just looks like a bunch of super sets with cardio involved. the guy i talked to said cross fit is pretty much being able to do certain work outs or exercises or w/e in the least amount of time possible with doing the most amount of reps u can. the part i disagree on is that it doesnt seem very safe with olympic lifts and squats and dl's. same with the pull ups too.

    I honestly don't hate crossfit and believe it is a good lifestyle for someone who wants to be lean and healthy. If you want big muscles though, don't do it.

    the guy i talked to had this kind of attitude. he didnt flat out say it, but he pretty much talked like it. he never stops talking, srs. he tries to use these big complex words to describe and say things to try to seem really intelligent then he told me how isolation movements like bicep curls dont work unless ur on the juice cuz ur body basically doesnt produce enough of its own natural steroid (he said a whole bunch of stuff, but this is all i got out of it). does anyone know what hes hinting at? cuz i seriously dont know.

    i agree, some of the guys in the vids actually look like they have athletic bodies and i admit, some of the stuff they do does seem pretty tiring, but i cannot agree on trying to do dl's, squats, and olympic lifts for speed. thats just dangerous. same goes for the form aspect, form goes out the door in order to get reps in. i only spoke to one person, but so far they seem to have a cocky attitude about cross fit.

    I have never been to a crossfit gym and have only met 1 crossfitter IRL. He was an ex army special forces guy and was over 6 feet tall and pretty legit. For me the stigma of a 150 weak man that can't bench his bodyweight, but says it's not important is non existent. I use the ideas from their programming and some of their circuits. For me it's more fun than a standardized routine and I am stronger and more well rounded than I have ever been in my life.
