- guy goes to police station, officers get called in to apologize
- they won't apologize
- goes back to library, asks when he can come back, officer gives very vague answer
- officer says 1 year, then it turns out max is only 2 weeks

I don't know... I can see it from the girl's perspective too. It's like the gym, if you aren't on a station, it isn't your station. If you ain't in the room, it ain't your room. How was she supposed to know he would be gone for 7 minutes?
Also, I get EXTREMELY skeptical whenever I hear stories like this, and the "antagonist" is ultra racist. There are either a LOT of ultra racist people around that have no problems saying it in public places, or this guy is playing up the race card to gain some sympathy and make the chick look like the bad guy.
And at the end of the day, if this guy was super busy and really needed to study, he didn't take the best course of action to get that done by picking a fight in which the person in the right is, at best, ambiguous, and then proceeding to get himself arrested. Sounded like somebody who felt like making a point to me.
