Trutein Review- All 5 Trutein flavors reviewed **
Disclaimer: I like the No-bs approach when it comes to writing reviews. Even if I get a product free I'm not going to write a rosy review on it unless the product earns one. I tell it like it is. If a product sucks I'll call it out if it's good I'll give my thoughts on it.
Trutein by TruNutrition Sciences
http://www.truscience.com/trutein.html

I purchased a sample pack for 7 dollars and some change. Got it in the mail a week later with the flavors: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate dipped Strawberry, Chocolate covered Banana
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
Profile: The profile for trutein is exceptional. 1.5g fat, 2.5g net carbs (2.5 fiber + 2.5 other), and 23 grams of protein packed in a 115 calorie mix. Also included is 75mg omega 3 fatty acids... which probably don't do anything considering they more or less have likely gone rancid and ineffective by the time You drink them. No worries no points deducted for useless additives. 20mg of Nucleotide blend - See the label, I'm not sure if this is helpful but It probably doesn't hurt. 100mg of protease enzyme (this one may be helpful if you have digestion problems). What really stands out is the protein blend.
Trutein claims to use 40% whey, 40% micellar casein, and 20% egg white protein. In my eyes this is fantastic. The casein is nice for satiety, the whey is nice pre workout, and the egg white is good for everything else. If you're into the whole "nutrient timing" thing (bunk imo, I prefer to intermittent fast) then this is great for your sanity. I give it a 9.5/10 nothing's perfect, but this is pretty damn good.
Mixability
In water: This mixed okay in water. There are little chunks of peanut (very small, and very nice addition I may add) that wouldn't dissolve in water obviously but it was still easy to mix with a spoon and a cup so You can imagine it being great with a shaker bottle.
In skim milk: Great mixability in milk, the chalky texture usually found with casein proteins was nonexistant in chocolate peanut butter. Mixed super easy with a spoon and the peanut chunks were really nice in millk
Taste: I don't usually bust a nut on flavors but I literally said "omg" when I took a sip of this. In milk, IT TASTES LIKE A GOD DA*M REESE'S CUP (In water it tastes like a watery reese's cup lmao) This is by FAR the best chocolate peanut butter protein I've ever tasted. Disclaimer: I haven't tried XF which I hear is good but I've tried everyone elses, this takes the cake. 9.99/10 (nothing's perfect, Maybe a SMIDGEN of more chocolate but really it's fantastic)
Overall
9.8/10 Great protein, would absolutely reccomend to anyone looking for a CPB flavor protein.
Vanilla
Profile: Similar to CHocolate PB cup except it's 120 cals and 25g protein.
Mixability: Mixability in water was not as good as CPB for some reason. Took me a little longer to dissolve but still much better than dymatize or ON for example or ***********, no ON or dymatize or *********** hate). Mixability in milk was substantially better, it dissolved quickly with no hassles. In fact it was a very very smooth drink in milk. Overall I'll give it 7.8/10 with a 9 in milk.
Taste
In water: Not great, 5/10 I didn't enjoy this in water. It wasn't awful, Definitely still drinkable but it wasn't great and I consider 5 to be average. I was kind of disappointed at this point (b4 I tried vanilla) as I heard trutein made the best vanilla. The chalky texture that is typical of casein proteins that had been so far missing in the others surfaced here. Definite chalkiness going on.
In milk: this was for some reason substantially better in milk. Tasted like a vanilla milkshake. Better than every other vanilla I've tried so 8.5/10. Taste is definetely more vanilla bean as opposed to a french vanilla. Still a tad bit chalky but didn't bother me nearly as much.
Overall: 7.9/10
Milk Chocolate
Profile: Same as chocolate PB Cup
Mixability: Similar to the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup or vanilla in milk. Very smooth with no hassles in mixing.
Taste Tastes like a better and improved version of Nesquick. If you could make a drink out of hershey's chocolate, that's what this would taste like. I don't like plain chocolate proteins but this made me reconsider. Very good 9.5/10
Overall: 9/10 A very solid chocolate protein. I'm actually torn between this and chocolate PB. The only chocolate whey I've ever enjoyed. I could drink this for fun It's that good.
Chocolate - dipped Strawberry
Profile: Same as chocolate pb and milk chocolate.
Mixability: This one was easier to mix in water than in milk. There were little pieces of chocolate which was a huge plus for taste but not so great for mixing. A shaker bottle would make this easier, remember I'm using a cup and spoon. Still very easy to mix and I've had a lot of poor-mixing proteins in the past. Overall 8/10.
Taste: I expected this one to not taste good, I really dislike fruit flavored protein. But as with chocolate this surprised me. It really did taste like chocolate and strawberries, with an emphasis on the strawberry. But it was pleasant, not dumb and overly fruity like other's I've tried. More like a strawberry milkshake. It was nice in both water and milk which was a plus.
I would even consider buying a tub of this if I wasn't broke and had to prioritize my addiction to peanut butter. Overall a very good tasting protein for a person that usually doesn't enjoy this flavor, 9.2/10
Overall: 9/10 This is a very good protein. highly reccomended if you like strawberries but not looking for a fruit-juice type protein.
Chocolate covered Banana This one surprised the hell out of me.
Profile: Same as the rest
Mixability: This was the easiest to mix. It actually surprised me how quickly it dissolved in both water and milk. 9.5/10
Taste: Okay I thought this was going to be nasty. i was thinking as I opened it ... this will not end well. I was taken aback when I tasted it. The flavor of bananas is strong in this one. Can barely taste the chocolate but it's there. Either way I liked it, but I wouldn't buy a tub unless I had lots of spare money to spend on protein lol. I can't compare this to any other banana protein because I haven't tried any. But it really wasn't bad. 7.9/10, although I'm tempted to give it a 9 just because It actually tasted like it was supposed to instead of being gross... but I think banana protein just isn't for me. Still, I wouldn't be upset if I had to drink it, it's really pretty good.
Overall: 8/10
Final comments: Guys I've found it. I've gone through so many brands of protein but Trutein is the one for me. If i could I would buy a tub of every single flavor just to have on hand to match what I feel like drinking for that day. I'm still debating on what to buy, I've never been presented so many solid options before. I've been buying Chocolate PB proteins for EVER looking for a good one but I really didn't think the strawberry or the chocolate would be as good as they really are. Brb saving up and buying tubs of all three.
A solid protein blend with VERY good profile and Great taste and mixability? Almost too good to believe.

Stern fan, it is
Wow, great reviews OP.
I think the little particles in the CPB powder are chocolate bits, not peanut, but I could be wrong.
Surprised you didn't give the chocolate covered banana a higher rating, I love that stuff.
