I just made a fake profile of an HB8 that i know, just to see what kind of volume good looking girls are getting on that site. I just posted the profile 10 minutes ago and already i have 15 messages in my inbox and have had about 10 im's. really opened my eyes to what a waste of time it must be. And i even put for black guys, mexicans and asians not to message me, and still getting insane attention.

I have actually met and dated girls through that website. Some serious, others didn't pan out.
It's possible to meet people through it, but it takes a lot of time, patience, and clever writing if you want any kind of success. There are way more men than women on there, and about 2/3 of the women on there are either attention whoring with no actual desire to meet, or absolutely insane with serious insecurity issues.
When I first joined, I got probably 3-4 messages per day, and that number wained as I was on there longer (everyone had already viewed me), and now I only get a new message when a new girl joins. My response rate is probably about 40%, and I've actually noticed that regardless of how hot the girl is, that number stays pretty much the same. Been ignored by some girls I really felt like I was lowering myself for, and been positively responded to and engaged by girls who I thought might pass me up.
It's like any social networking site for a guy, you get exactly what you put in. Unless you are VERY good looking, you are going to have to do the majority of the work (writing witty, funny messages that convey all the right things; Constantly stoking conversations; etc). Overall, it's worth it if you're bored, and have some free time. Otherwise, I'd stick to actually going out and meeting people that way. Women on dating sites in particular set their standards higher than usual because they are so inundated with messages from guys, as the numbers are in their favor. Not to mention the constant white knighting that goes on, I'm sure.Misc bros 4 lyfe

I do find it hard to be creative. I'm good at regurgitating others peoples knowledge/opinions but not so much creating my own. I need to start reading more outside of the misc to broaden my horizons.

I'm a decent looking guy (7/10) and I've had sex with 8 of the 10 girls I met from POF. 1 of the girls I didn't bang was my decision not to (because she didn't look nearly as good in person).
