He proved he was not a stand out player when the Lakers were losing after Shaq left. The Lakers went out and shopped for players that could elevate Kobe's game.
I feel he's in the bunch with Amare, D-wade, Paul Pierce, Durant, Bosh, etc. He's not a player that's above the rest.

He's the most skilled player in NBA history. Not gifted, Lebron is the most gifted. When it comes to hard work and improving your skills each and every year, nobody comes close to Kobe. He's 32 years old, although a lot of miles already, has a few more years to go. If he retired right now, he'd be considered top 5 of all time by MANY. He's got a few more years to work on his legacy and they way he'll improve on that is by winning championships and undoubtfully being #1 scoring all time.

He is the most clutch player in the NBA and that's what makes some people see him as above the rest since he can score when the game is on the line. Also when he's scoring, it seems like he can put up points effortlessly outshining everyone else. Also he carried Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Smush Parker on his nutsack to the playoffs.

rofl really OP? According to your "analysis" Kobe is an above-average scorer who sucks at defense and gets most of his points from the FT line, sucks getting to the basket, cant make very many assists, cant get rebounds, cant steal and the only thing he does well is mid range shooting...
BRB 27,397 pts, 5744 boards, 5075 assists, 1627 steals...

If by "stand out" you mean he doesn't standout in any specific category... I guess. As a complete player he does almost everything well. And if you're making the comparison, here are comparisons using career numbers ranked against players at his position in 2011 (acknowledging that Kobe is on the downslide stat-wise):
assists=average/good: Kobe averages 4.7 assists per game, good for 34th in the league among all guards. If we only consider players at his position, Kobe would be top 5 or so among all shooting guards. (Although for a guard the number of assists is a function of the offense you play in more than anything else.)
rebounds=excellent: Kobe averages 5.3 rebounds per game, which would be good for third among all guards in 2011. Unless you're telling me that being one of the top 3 rebounders at his position is "average"?
defense=excellent: Let's be serious here: he wasn't 8x All-NBA Defensive 1st, and 2x All-NBA Defensive 2nd because his defense was "average".

He's is a little more outstanding then these players but he isn't as good as his cocksuckers would like to think. His defense is above average and hes a good rebounder when he wants to be but everything else you said is about right. Id crown him the best in the league right now by a very slim margin over Lebron/Wade but when Duncan and Shaq were in their primes it was easily them.

strong retard..he has 9 All-defensive teams. Average defender my ass. Maybe this season, yeah, but not when it matters or earlier in his career.
Who shut down Westbrook after he murked Fish in Oklahoma? Exactly.
brb best scoring season ever outside of Jordan
brb he plays with NBA's best rebounders, no **** he'll have average rebounding numbers..And even then he's the top 5 rebounder out of all guards.
