In light of the other thread regarding the protests in California against the ICNA (link http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=132426093) I have decided to shed some lights on the tons of misconceptions i see regarding Muslims on here and in the West in general
1. Honor killings: They are not normal. They are not condoned/allowed in Islam. They are a cultural thing, not Muslim (common among certain tribes and communities in certain countries) Think of people who you hear commiting them in the news as the equivalent of the Christian nutjob hillbilly's in the US who shoot abortion doctors
2. Sharia Law: I love when I see people blindly throwing around "herp derp dat Sharia law" around. People seem to think all Muslims want Shara law in Western countries. As someone mentioned before, no Muslim country truly abides by all aspects of Sharia law (Saudi Arabia has a lot of laws based on it, but not in full) so how the fuk does anyone expect it to spread to the West?
just because some ******* from the UK says it should happen doesnt mean it will. brb David Duke says America should be white only, im sure this will eventually happen
3. Beating women: It's not allowed. People over accentuate quotes and passages from the Quran to make it seem like it is allowed. Christian and Jewish texts have similar passages. The texts are from a different time period., it is not applicable today and any ******* who does so is just as wrong as the drunk who hits his wife of any other faith/ethnic background
4. Hating Jews: The majority of Muslims do not hate Jews. Jews are in the Quran. They are people of the book, recognized, and respected. Disagreeing with Israel and discrimination against Israel by some Muslims does not equal discrimination against Jews
brb hating Italians for some reason = hating all Catholics
will be glad to clear up any questions anyone has...these misconceptions and ideas need to die

The great vast majority of Muslims I've met personally (Key word) have been openly anti-Israel and carefully wording it with "not anti-semetic," but are extremely anti-semetic in private.
