Currently hitting everything twice a week. But I was wondering if there was anything that you benefit from if you hit maybe three times a week? Goals = improve strength and size

I squat 3x a week though I split it up into heavy (back squat), medium (front squat) and light (overhead squat) days. I also do pullups 3x a week but never to failure.
I guess my point is that if you're upping your training frequency to you shouldn't go heavy every time or your body won't be able to recover. What exactly constitutes sufficient recovery is individual and is for you to find out for yourself.Strength + Speed = Power
If you never fail, you aren't truly pushing yourself to the limit. If you never push yourself to the limit, how do you know what you're truly capable of?

If there's a lift that you'd like to get strong at as fast as possible, then do that. Lots of people bench 3x a week...just don't go heavy every time (i.e. monday - heavy, low reps. wednesday - light/focus on form. friday- moderate)
I do pullups 3-4x a week to get better at them, only going to failure on one day, and my back has been growing like crazy. I've never gotten stretchmarks before, but I have some huge ones on my lats now.
edit: also, some people do calves and abs 3x a weekLast edited by JohnnyOhhh; 03-04-2011 at 07:26 AM.
