Your weight will fluctuate throughout the day because of water weight, etc. Your scale is fine. As was said earlier, your best way of tracking weight gain/loss would be to weight yourself first thing in the morning after using the bathroom (minimally dressed or nude). If you do that, your weight will still fluctuate but it will be far closer to the same target weight every time.
Personally, I weight myself once at that time every morning, write down what it was, and take the average for the entire week. Then I do the same the following week. If the average weight for week 2 was higher than week 1, I probably did gain some weight in the form of muscle and/or fat, and not just water. My guilty pleasure: excessive cardio.
Progress towards the 1000 lb club: 945/1000
Bulking until I hit 1000. I don't care if it takes a 40 pound weight gain. No more pussyfooting around.

Hmm... not so bright.
Consider what "weight" is. Consider that all the things inside your body right now - not just your bones, muscle, cartilage and fat, but also the water you just drank, the feces sitting in your colon, etc - have weight that will be represented on the scale. Consider that these factors - how much water is contained in your body, how much food in your stomach, and so on - will change throughout the day. Now consider why I'm judging you for asking this question.
