ITT: People who will never be rich, or want to be rich, rationalize why the can't.
Get over yourself.
Stop feeling bad because you are pathetic.
I'm not rich. But I certainly don't think I can't be.
Your idol.
He worked hard. Was not rich at all. He came from a 2nd world country in the midst of a social crisis and a government revolution.
Its ok though you can cry all you want about it being unfair, when you don't want to work hard.
thats just not the case
There were more millionaires created in the US since 1950 than ever in the history of the world.
Most of them were in computer science, natural gas, or oil. The new inheritance money declined compared to those individuals..

guys calm the fk down the usa tax system overall is only slightly progressive. study after study proves this.
here
1) income tax= highly progressive
2) payroll tax= regressive (gets capped therefore rich pay less %).
3) sales taxes = regressive (rich spend less % of income hence pay less %).
4) property taxes = progressive
when you include all state/federal taxes it comes out to slightly progressive.
If you want to see how the poor get help it's not through taxation but through transfer payments. Meaning who does the money collected get spent on or sent to? The answer is the poor!
So if you want to bitch, bitch about the payment of transfer. EX: Medicaid, TANF, Food stamps, federal student aid (yes u fking college students) etc.

holy **** calm down bro. Like I said I don't give a **** how much the top tier are making, I am NOT JEALOUS of that. Thanks though for the huge, outlandish attack on my intelligence, my sexuality as well as my education.
I'm not going to turn this into a huge defense for myself nor an attack against you, but the same bull**** you are printing out is the same excuse I hear from many of the rich, intelligent folk such as yourself that know oh so much about everything than I do.
All I ever wanted was to work for my money, that's what I have been doing since I was 18. Parents had no money, circumstances turned out this way, again not going to go into all that because it is irrelevant. I just want to be able to apply whatever skills I have and it's just so slow I have had to take the small jobs bud, I'm not above anything even mowing a lawn and picking peaches.
I admit I don't know much about econ/stocks, I haven't had enough wealth until recently to even think about it honestly, been too busy looking for work, and working although scarce. Consider yourself blessed you don't have to do the same my friend, upon whatever high chair you sit.

Do you own a buisness? Are you an economist? Do you have any idea what you are talking about?
No. So your opinion is invalid. Different strategies breed different effects. Less taxes on the rich = more spending from the rich as well as influence to hire more people which equates to more consumers spending. Noone will have any idea if it will work or not, especially not you.

Reminds me of a quote from V for Vendetta
V: Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of the everyday routine, the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration - whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday - I thought we could mark this November the fifth, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
There are, of course, those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now orders are being shouted into telephones and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there?
Cruelty and injustice...intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance, coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told...if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War. Terror. Disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to the now High Chancellor Adam Sutler. He promised you order. He promised you peace. And all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.
Last night, I sought to end that silence. Last night, I destroyed the Old Bailey to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago, a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice and freedom are more than words - they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you, then I would suggest that you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek...then I ask you to stand beside me, one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament. And together, we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever, be forgot!

Packers, you from wisconsin, this **** at the capital is ridiculous. Asking for public people to pay about 1/3 of the private sector pays and for something the never had to pay for because its there "right" as citizens not to pay, so now there all upset. Then the democrat senators leave the state because they don't want to vote on a bill. ****s stupid

lolz, you do realized the way the rich get richer is by investing money correct? You do realize that when they invest it creats jobs by expanding business correct? You do realize that when you tax them they have less to invest correct? And you do realize that with less money they will invest less into the economy correct? They are rich because they made themselves that way. Or because their parents made themselves that way, it has nothing to do with you, or the government, so either go get a job or GTFO, you are entitled to nothing but the PURSUIT of happiness in this country, not a marxist share of land you fuktard.

actually, it does have to do with the government. the government and the system are what allows a rich person to acquire so much wealth. without government, one could never acquire so much property.
if someone gets rich off the system, why shouldnt they pay more into the system for the less fortunate.
for all of you saying they earned it, they did not earn it their employees did. no one could get that wealthy without stealing the profits that other workers earn.

Why did this thread get bumped.... are you lot still arguing that lowering taxes will benefit the poor?
TAXES ARE PAID BY THE RICH.
THE RICH PAY FOR THE POOR.
TAXES ARE BASED ON REDISTRIBUTIONARY BY NATURE; IF YOU LOWER TAXES YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE POOR.
Some of you need to take basic logic 101.
x > y
y > z
x > z
For f*cks sake.
Lets not forget who FUNDS all of those liberal universities you got your pathetic degrees in. Who MADE THE COMPANIES THAT DONATED THE BUILDINGS YOU LEARNED IN. The men that went and created companies for your parents to work in...
Or do you think you average American dad could do it on his own in his own small community....
Get real.
Let this thread die, and be a realization that most of you are incredibly stupid, and have no idea what happens in the world, and you will digest whatever political tripe is fed down your throat.
You will be in favor of taxes now, and you will want less taxes later. Overall, you should be in favor of local [well spent] taxes, and entirely against national/global taxes [that nice aid we sent to iraq/iran/egypt/saudi arabia the last 50 years.]
Wake up you retards.I don't rep back - I don't want your reps
