Are you implying that that shows message is that any unattractive guy can get any hot girl? Even though she is still the "pants wearing one" of the relationship? And a lot of episodes poke fun at his weight?

Every one of those shows the girl is a higher rating than the guy. They are actors, they are talented. If acting ability had nothing to do with it every cast would be full of calvin klein and victoria secret models.

There is some truth to this. I remember when I lived back in NYC, I was standing at a street corner waiting for the light to change. Up pulled something that made my jaw literally drop. I don't know about all that. I actually read a study a few weeks ago that showed a bunch of women pictures of 1000 men, and they rated 80% of guys as a 4 or below.

The study also showed the results from men, and the men were actually WAY more generous with their ratings.

I'm generalizing these numbers, I don't remember the exact figures, but the **** was absurd.

Poster is mad that he dresses like Mr. Rogers. Not sure how many times I have to state the focus of the thread, this isn't about me, this isn't about looks vs confidence, it's about unrealistic standards that women hold men to.

This thread only further proves my point. I'm an average - good looking guys (6.5-7). Now, if I want girls, what is the first thing everyone tells me? Go to the gym! Get some swagger! Learn how to build your confidence (holy **** you guys, I'm 26, I am already confident by now), get a nice car, dress well, and the list goes on and on. Now, if I follow these steps, then YEAH, I will get tons of women.

My point is, that being a high 6 and a man, what are the odds the girls I'm going to attract are also high 6's or 7s who have accomplished the same **** I had to jump through hoops for? (i.e she's in great shape, goes to the gym, is confident within herself, has a good job, well dressed)

The odds are very slim, very ****ing slim. Sure, I'll be pulling girls left and right (which AGAIN, has never been a problem), my point is that I'm not attracting the female equivalent to myself. I'll attract a bunch of 4-6s who have nothing going for them, fat, lazy, out of shape.

So my point of this thread is basically that there are a TON of guys out there who are constantly doing amazing things, and the women don't seem to do jack ****. Hardly any of them workout, most of them can't write a coherent sentence, can't hold their own in any sort of conversation of importance, and just assume since they have a sausage sleeve of a vagina, that it will get them what they want.

We live in a society that is constantly telling women that they are perfect little snowflakes the way they are, and at the same time drills it into men's heads that they are a creep/weirdo if they do anything to associate themselves with these perfect little snowflakes. Look at sitcoms, or look at any program on tv. Jesus, look at the disney channel even.

The men are portrayed as goofy/less intelligent/infantile, and the girls are portrayed as dominant/level headed/attractive. Compare this with programming from the 50s/60s/70s/80s/(even 90s) and is it any surprise that so many men today have become gigantic pussies, and that even the most average woman, thinks she's better than almost every guy?

I have never in my life noticed nor cared what kind of car a guy drove. I am so uninterested in cars that I literally just don't notice...ask me what color car a guy drove, and I probably couldn't tell you unless it was like pink and massively stood out.

I do suppose you can say "power" is attractive, but I think it's more about the look associated with power than the actual possession of power for me. Put an average guy in a business suit or dress shirt, have him clean up (shave and all of that), and he becomes a lot more attractive to me. But then like police, firefighter, and military uniforms?
