but i want my abs to pop.
i run 3 miles first thing when i wake up and do my lifting around 4pm everyday then sometimes i play foul court basketball with some other guys durring the week.
right now im eating lots of egg whites, lean meat, and cottage cheese.
im taking creatine and whey protein. meals spread out 4 hours apart.
but what are other foods i should be eating?
along with foods i should STAY AWAY from?
right now im not eating carbs.. basically at all.. no bread or anything like that.

Head over to the stickies and come up w/ a quick macro structure based on your height/weight/goals/etc. You said you made good gains this winter, so you should know how your body reacts w/ higher carbs or fats in your diet. A quick macro breakdown usually is the easiest and fastest way for somebody to glance at your diet and offer advice.
deadlift: 500 (No straps, No belt, No chalk... 100% RAW)
squat: 405
Bench: 300

OP - I will give you the time of day to copy paste my noobie guide. Basically the stickies summed up into one page with a little added detail and explanation.
If you truly want to learn anything about nutrition that's a good start.
Yes, abs are made in the kitchen more so then the gym.
Everyone has abs, they are just hidden under fat. To make them appear you need to shed the fat off your belly, in other words proper diet.Last edited by Joseph1990; 02-28-2011 at 10:42 PM. Reason: Additional reply

Just cutting carbs won't get you lean. You need to eat less calories than you burn per day to lose fat period.
If you'd like to look good then work out how much protein carbs and fats you need too.
1g protein per lb of LeAn body weight
0.45-1g of fat per lb of body weight and the rest of you calories can be carbs or a mix of whatever you prefer.
You can't get fat unless you eat more than you use.
