If you complete the rep, locking out, once you bring the db over your head, you are using your triceps to do it. The delts are mostly out of the picture at that point.

That may be true for some people. Personally I'm not jealous of Branch; to be perfectly honest I would hate looking like him.

His form sucks. It is what it is. The fact that he is one of the best in the world does not change that. Some people probably bring it up because they may actually be concerned for him in that his idiotic training style may cause more injuries than it already has.

Hears the blood and guts training series. Starts around 1 minute and talks about keeping the tension on the delts.

Yeah Dorian is wrong on that one. The lockout obviously involves the triceps but it's not "just" triceps by any means.

heres captain retard to the rescue once more, do you not realise that past a certain point in a pressing movement the focus goes onto the triceps alltogether and barley any delt, which when considering its a delt exersise is NOT what your after.
The fact the tricpes get used either way is completely besides the point, now GTFO.

if we can get away from the nonsense for a minute, what I found most striking in the video way back at the beginning of this thread, is looking at Branch's Triceps and overall arms, while doing these presses.....

when you see how gigantic they look and then, keep in mind, that , amongst his peers, his arms are considered his WEAK POINT! LOL......

gives you a perspective on just how out of the stratosphere these guys are and why they are top world caliber competitors.......

That's an extremely common misconception and to be perfection honest I'm surprised anyone with training experience would actually say that.

I think it's one of those bromyths that some pro said once and everyone now takes it as gospel without actually putting any thought into it.

Dont see your point. Dorian Yates' form was probably as close to perfect form as you can get, he still got injuries, and probably more damaging ones than Branch has had.

Its not like hes gettin inured all over the place either ( at least i dont think). The only injury i remember Branch having is a triceps injury.

Branch is using form that has taken him to number 2 in the word, that is the all you should be concerned about. I mean if you wanna get all bent out of shape about Branch's form why not start a thread and have a go at Ronnie's?

Branch's videos are awesome. It's what I want to see in a bodybuilding video, a big dude slinging big weights. And his commentary is so much more interesting than others. I've got to the point where I just mute Jay's videos. If I hear him say "basically just trying to get blood in there, get that squeeze or get that contraction" I'm gonna kill myself. No hate on Jay, he's Mr. O, but god he's sucha mook when doing commentary.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the blood and guts video that shows Dorian training from the 90s. In this Dorian did smith shoulder presses. Dorian does recommend the dumbbell presses in his newer videos. My guess is that in his video Dorian did the smith presses because of problems with his shoulders.

I'm sure he was too; I''m just illustrating my point as to what Dorian said about shoulder presses though.
