Help with getting faster for soccer

I play as a right winger and I realized that I wasn't as fit as I should be as I felt dead tired midway through the second half. I decided to start running more and now, I'm able to last for the entire game but I've also noticed that my sprinting speed has decreased.

I did some research and I think some of my fast twitch muscles have been converted to slow twitch muscles. I really want to know what I can do to increase my sprinting speed while maintaining my match fitness as soccer is more endurance based with intermittent sprinting.

I've also put on some weight along the way and my bf% is 15. Obviously, losing the excess fat will allow me to be faster but I've also read that sprinting and weight loss done together are counter productive as they won't help increase your power-to-weight ratio as opposed to doing them one at a time. I would like to know if losing the extra weight, which is about 5-6lbs to get to 10%bf, would be better or would doing sprint training be more effective.

Also, I do have a weight training program that emphasizes on compound lifts like squats, deadlifts, etc.

Combination of both will be most effective (losing excess bodyfat to improve power/weight ratio and performing sprint training).

Improving speed can also help improve stamina for intermittent sports like soccer through increasing 'speed reserve.'

Extensive tempo runs are a better form of endurance training for intermittent sport athletes because they don't interfere with speed training like traditional endurance training methods do.
