UPDATE from previous thread: I've decided to reverse the challenge, and turn it into real motivation. I've doubled the money to 200 USD. If I DON'T lose 30 lbs in 3 months, then I will send a random person in this thread 200 US Dollars.

If I don't succeed in my goal, then I will use a random number generator, and select a winner. You can post as many times as you like, doesn't matter. I'll be weighing in once per week.

I'm sure that some of you don't believe that I will deliver the reward if I don't succeed. I'm willing to send the money to someone that is reliable, and that person would pay the winner in 3 months (if I fail to lose 30lbs). Preferably, a MOD would be my choice. If not, then I hope you can believe me, that I will be honest with my weigh-ins (starting tomorrow), and I will be honest with my final weigh in (on June 1st), and that I will pay the amount. 200 USD is a lot of money, and I'm not going to take this lightly.

Right now, I find myself in a bit of a pickle.

On one hand, I did make this thread, and I did say that I will lose 30 lbs in 3 months. Since then, I've been doing a lot of research on this forum. It seems, that if I reduce calories drastically, then I would also risk losing lean muscle mass too.

The alternative is to only 'slightly' reduce my calories, but this will probably not allow for a 30 lbs weight loss.

Regarding this thread, I was hoping some of you might be able to understand my dilemma. I was also hoping that most of you don't mind if I change the challenge of this thread.

I was thinking I could do this: I would try to achieve a 'total body transformation' in 12 weeks. I'll post the high resolution before pics (with newspaper), and some high resolution after pics (in 12 weeks, with newspaper). And then the misc can decide if I made a significant enough change worth of 12 weeks. If not, then I'll randomly give out 200 USD, if I did, then I get to keep the 200 USD.


I'm really sorry about this. And this is NOT about me backing out. Its just that I'm educating myself more on bodybuilding, and the nutrition that goes along with it. I'm an idiot for assuming I could cut my calories very low, and not lose any muscle in the process.



I'm in for some ideas, if you don't agree with what I suggested. Hope you can understand. A lot of people have posted here, and last thing I want to do is disappoint anyone.

Doubt it, as in its not possible to lose that much weight? Or that I won't deliver the money if I don't lose it. Put it this way, what is there for you to lose? I set this challenge up for myself, because I am confident I can do it.

I know more people will be skeptical, but I'll just go ahead and say it again. If I don't succeed, I will use a random number generator, and award whoever gets chosen, 200 US Dollars. There is no other way I can prove this, except offer my word.

I have a morning ritual that I need to share. I call it "the terminator". First I crouch down in the shower in the classic "naked terminator traveling through time" pose. With my eyes closed I crouch there for a minute, visualizing either Arnold or the guy from the second movie (not the chick in the third one because that one sucked) and I start to hum the terminator theme. Then I slowly rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me to proceed through my day as an emotionless, cyborg badass. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It ruins the fantasy. I think maybe I read too many comic books when I was a kid...
