Dog spilled water on my laptop... is it ruined??

My dog jumped up on me when I was drinking my glass of water and a little bit of it splashed on my keyboard.. i wiped it off with paper towel but then the screen went black like 3 mins later.. power stayed on though.. then i tried turning it off and back on a few times and nothing.. so i waited 5 mins and tried again and i was able to log back in and then the screen went black again.. but now the power lights are on when the laptop isnt even on.. right when i plug in the charger the power lights turn on but i still have to hit the power button to boot it up.. it gets to the acer screen then it goes full black again..

can a little water on my keyboard really ruin my laptop? wtf... so pissed.. anything i can do? I tried blowdrying it.. didnt work

take out the battery and power. get as much water out as you can. let it air dry for a few days and it should be fine.

my dad spilled a glass of wine on his and it wouldn't turn on for like 5-6 days. but it works fine now.

the rice is supposed to absorb the water. but it's not really necessary unless it was major spillage imo.

Well riddle me this first OP. If your dog spilled water on your laptop is it ruined? If you can answer that then you have the answer to your question.

Try this. Seriously. I think you have to put it in dry/uncooked rice? It's an old trick that's supposed to help dry sh!t out inside and out.

Depends if your laptop has protection underneath the keyboard.

I was cleaning out my laptop, and was surprised to find that underneath the keyboard was just plastic.

Which means I can spill anything on it and it will be safe (kinda).

Even computers play up if you spill stuff on the keyboard.

Just get a hair dryer and try to get it as dry as possible, your laptop hard ware might still be safe, but the likelihood of the laptop keyboard working again, idk.

You have to microwave it so it can properly absorb the water
