Hey y'all! I've been a long time lurker on the forums, and I finally got the guts to post thanks to the ErgoGenix Quantum Body Transformation Challenge. (Thanks for forcing me out of my comfort zone. Such a huge community is intimidating!)
A little about me... I love feeling fit. I love being fit. I haven't felt fit in a LONG time.
I took a stab at my first NPC figure competition in 2009. I was immediately hooked. During the spring of 2010 I competed in two national level shows, but I had some issues getting that lean/dry/tight look I worked so damn hard for. I didn't realize that I was sick and one of my kidneys was failing due to a blocked ureter (genetic defect, not diet or training related). A week after my second national show I ended up in the ER. I found out my kidney wasn't draining and was so damaged that it was larger than a football (it should be the size of a fist). You could see my kidney bulging from my abdomen. GROSS! (and OUCH!) Because of the pain, I wasn't able to work out for several months. I had the kidney removed on August 23, 2010. It took over a month for me to even be able to walk straight up... instead of like a Geico caveman. After eight weeks I was able to ease back in the gym. It was painful, so I took it slow and listened to my body. I am able to work out pretty much normally now (I avoid a lot of prone exercises, because lying in that position is still painful), and this challenge is giving me the extra push I need to get my diet in check and my butt back on the cardio bandwagon.
So, on that note, Don't call it a come back, I've been here for years...
I will make a comeback. I will be bigger, leaner, and stronger.

Morning all! I'm definitely feeling the after affects from yesterday's delt and glute specialization workout. WOOP! I'm debating whether to take today off and do cardio only or hit back, bis, and abs. I usually avoid the gym on a Monday because of the crowds, but I'm feeling exceptionally motivated at the moment. I'll just have to see how the work day plays out.
Let's make today a great one!!!
Thank you so much!! 2010 was a strange year for me. LOL!
Hi! Thank you!!
LOL! Thanks, but there is plenty to transform! WOO HOO!!
Awwe, thanks!!
Yeah, KY represent! LOL!! I'm currently in eastern KY. Where are you?
Hi! Thank you! My main goal right now is fat loss. I'm keeping thing tentative for now. I would like to see an LBM increase, but I am also okay with starting that later on down the road when I am leaner so that I can actually see what's growing. Right now it's hard for me to tell. LOL!!

I lived in Lexington til I was about 11, then moved to Mercer Co. for the duration of my growing up years. Mom and Dad and all my 7 brothers/sisters are still in Central KY.
I got my job and moved to SE KY 24 years ago and now call that home. I'm right on the VA border. My current log

Thank you!
Thanks, Becca! XO!
Oh wow! I grew up right around the same place! Small world!
Woop!
Pfft. You're WAY too kind! But, thank you!

Well.... training is going well. The diet... it could be better, but it is an improvement. I'm having issues flipping the diet switch on, and I catch myself eating stuff that I didn't plan. (wasabi and soy sauce almonds are WAY too easy to throw down the hatch before realizing it! but they are gone now! Thankfully!) Sometimes it takes me a bit to get in full swing and out of the little mindless things. I will say that I AM HUNGRY, so here's hoping I am still in a deficit! LOL!

Morning all! I hit a speed bump over the weekend and am under the weather! Nutrition is in check, though, and I am hoping to at LEAST get in some light cardio (just walking or cycling) tonight. I don't want to push it and have a setback, so I will just play it by ear. I'm on my third day of the Z-Pak, so I'm thinking I will be feeling better in no time!
I hope you all are off to a better start than me! LOL!!

Morning! I am still under the weather, but I finally was able to move a bit. I did thirty minutes of cardio last night after work and another thirty minutes fasted this morning. WOO HOO! I'm still not 100%, but I think I'll be ready to hit the weights tomorrow. Weight has been steadily dropping this week and food has been spot on. I'll hit upper body tomorrow and lower body Friday and call it a week. It's not my typical split, but at least I will hit each body part once this week.
Tomorrow is the hubby's bday, and tonight the in-laws are taking us out for his b-day dinner (Italian! Eep! I already have my safe order in mind.)... This weekend we are going out of town (casino! WOO HOO!), soooooo... I have to keep the reigns a little tighter today than I usually would. I can't lie. I love to eat!
I have about four more pounds to go for the month to reach my March goal. I have to keep that in mind. Losses always come so slow for me!
Happy Hump Day all!!

Yeah! Finally!
I FINALLY made it back to the gym. It felt good! I felt weak, still under the weather (but not terrible), and I felt like I could go in there without spreading my nasty germs. I did a short upper workout, so that I could hit nearly every body part this week. It looks like I'll be skipping arms, but that's fine by me. I usually don't work them directly on a weekly basis.
Flat BB Bench: 45x20, 65x10, 85x6, 105x6, 125x3
(There was no real reason for the rep scheme other than a quick warmup and wanting to not push things too much.)
Seated Cable Row: 80x10, 100x10, 120x8, 140x5
Seated DB Shoulder Press (no back on bench and most DBs were taken): 20x10, 25x10, 30x10 <-- at this point I started feeling more run down and I started coughing a teensy bit! Good thing my normal DBs were in use! It was time to scale back!
SS Seated Bent-over Flyes w/ Seated Front Raises
10x10, 10x10, 10x10
Thennnn stretch!
I should really start lifting in the mornings, but I'm not the biggest morning person. I can get out of bed... But I usually only make it to the couch! Lol! Oh well, it was a great workout for what I needed, especially since I'm still on the mend.
I'm hoping to see a baby drop on the scale tomorrow. I really bloated up after the weekend, my highest in years! But all that fell off quickly and a smidge more as of this morning. That's always fun! Not fun that I swelled up that much, but it's fun watching the numbers drop quickly, even if I know it isn't actually fat. Lol! I get in that mindset when building, too... Thank you! I feel like it's taking FOREVER to get things back up to par! Oh well! I have time.
-------------------------------------------
FINALLY! I found a sec to come in here. I'm going to hit the gym this evening for either back and arms, shoulders and chest, OR legs. LOL! I keep things oddly wide open, since I never know what the gym will look like (crowds!), and I do NOT like waiting around for equipment. I haven't lifted since THURSDAY! It caused a bit of a setback with my cold/flu crap, so I didn't even attempt to hit the weights over the weekend. Mondays are always my off days to avoid the crowd.
The scale is moving in the right direction, and I have done a good job sticking to the diet for the most part, so no complaints on that front. I am looking forward to hitting the weights tonight!

Well, I had a very blah workout. I am not sure what was going on. I had energy, yet at the same time I felt weak. So weird! Usually when I feel weak, I am lacking energy. I could have stayed in there forever, but it was crowded and it was food time! Lol!
BACK
Pulldowns (wide): 90x8, 100x8, 110x6
Pulldowns (in): 120x6, 130x4

1 arm cable row w/ twist: 60x5ea <-- too much core. Couldn't hack it!

Seated bent over DB flyes: 10x10, 12x10, 15x8
BIS (giant set)
Prone incline reverse DB curl + prone incline supine grip DB curl + seated incline hammer: 15x10 two times through
MEALS
1 egg, 3 whites, spinach, jalepeno cheese, bacon pieces, spinach, almonds (loving this meal!)
Protein pudding w/ cocoa, hb egg
Chicken, green beans
Tuna + egg + mustard (didn't love this lol!)
Burger w/ cheese, olive oil mayo and pickles, green beans
I might have a shake before bed... Or sake. I have a couple hundred cals to spare“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” - Leo Nikolavich Tolstoy

Phew! I'm tired today! I woke up and did 30 minutes of low intensity fasted cardio. I found a bottle of yohimbine (who knows how old! Lol!) and took it along with caffeine prior. Ugh. I didn't like it one bit, so I won't be doing that again soon! Lol!
TRAINING - off
MEALS
egg, 3 whites, cheese, spinach
Hamburger, broccoli
Egg whites, sun butter (omg this was so good! It's like crack! Lol!)
Chicken, green beans, almond butter
Chicken, portabella mushrooms, pasta sauce, fresh parm, broc, whey shake
I'm stuffed and about ready to crash out on the couch... But I will try to stay up for Idol! Lol!
I am also thinking about starting QBM for training. There are a couple exercises we don't have, and a few things that will be impossible to superset at the gym, but I may just do substitutions and a few straight sets to work around the issues. It's a little intimidating, as it is much higher volume than I'm used to, and the training style is completely different than what I usually do... On the flip side, that makes me want to do it more. I may have to up carbs for recovery. I guess I'll find out sooner or later if I decide to go that route.“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” - Leo Nikolavich Tolstoy
