i tried taking a low dose of creatine a while ago, like a teaspoon size after a workout and my stomach was just destroyed. i literally barely made it to the bathroom.
is there anything that can stop this? would imodium work?

It hits you that hard? You weighing your dose?
My creatine suggests a 3g dose, you'll be suprised how little that is... a full tea spoon would probably have me ****ting through the eye of a needle as well.

Hot water. Undissolved crystals can do that.

I agree with a lot of people on here. Maybe it wasn't the creatine, but on the other hand some people just don't do good with the powder of a mono. Maybe try switching brands, maybe a pill form . I'm taking AAEFX Kre Alkalyn, just a couple pills a day. I don't have any issues, but I didn't have any issues like you are having with mono, other than a slight discomfort in my stomach.

Imodium would definitely work, but maybe you should switch to a Pill Form of Creatine like MCC or Creatine Nitrate. Both forms of Creatine have given me absolutely NO bloating/GI issues where as regular Mono gave me discomfort every now and then.
SNS makes a 501 cap bottle of MCC and if you look at the price per serving you will be extremely happy. I switched to MCC and I don't plan on switching back to Mono anytime soon.

yes it is hard to tell what the cause is. Best advice is to make sure you are drinking tons of water, whaveter creatine you take. you can look into creatine by other manufacturers if you are interested

Sorry for bringing this slightly old topic but I'm still trying to up my creatine dosage without having this particular side effect, I've tried these:
I've had this problem with these creatine products:
Dymatize Xpand Pump
Gaspari Superpump 250
NO Xplode
Higher Power Micronized Creatine
I did not have this problem with:
Jacked (but has a very small amount of creatine)
Since this is an important issue for me, I'd like to know if there's anything I could switch to avoid this embarrassing side effect..
Switch to creatine pill-form?
Switch to CEE creatine?
Kre Alkalyn?
Any help would be immensely appreciated

I find it hard to believe creatine can do this to anyone. I have ulcerative colitis, and no supplement really bugs me. Red meat actually irritates my digestive system more than anything.

It actually causes diarrhea and causes my anus to become extremely irritated from the creatine. I'm not joking. I hate rolling the dice and wasting money on different forms of creatine only to never use them or return them.. sorry about the frustration but i'm just getting to the point where it's just something I'll have to live without. Just one thing to point out, it only happens when i take the said supplements mentioned above (no xplode, superpump, xpand, hp creatine, etc..).

Look at Con-Cret. I had really good results with it. The review score on BB.com is like 9.4. I weigh 178 and took 2.6g of it per day on weekdays. No loading, no bloating, and faster results than with mono. I'm actually in the process of testing mono right now (1 1/2 weeks in) to see how it compares. Progress is definitely slower.
