    p90x Question

Im on day 5 of p90x and so far loving it. I just needed a break in the typical routine and was getting burnt out of the same old lifts and same old faces at the gym. I also have lacked leg strength as i dont lift my legs enough and just overall fitness. Either way I have a pretty solid upper body and have been lifting for nearly 5 years now...anyway

Because of my lack of cardio and leg strength day 2 (plyometrics) really kicked my ass. So much that even after a nice stretch with yoga yesterday my Legs are still throbbing!.. I mean i can still barely walk for real... today is Legs and Back.. I want to keep on schedule but I just dont know how effective lifting my legs today will be.. anyone else that has done p90x have any advice.. i wanna BRING IT with Tony again but I just dont know what to do

Work through it. Stretch good and get a good warm up. You'll be fine

I tried P90X a year ago. Don't try to keep up the first week of two. Go at your own pace and if you need to lower the weight, that is very much okay. This program is made for you to advance with, not be able to just take off and have it easy. Don't skip a day and keep with the exact schedule...they have it that way for a reason.

    Good luck

If you're intent on sticking to the program just do the legs and back as best you can. I've already voiced my concern with the P90X program's focus on overtraining; either way, just do what you can--be prepared to lunge like a madman though.

That is up to you. You lift the weight that is right for you and do as much as you can while keeping good form. Don't expect to keep up with them at first. Maybe you can borrow one of your friends set and try it out.

Well pushed through and tore my legs apart!!!.. it felt great though.. not as bad as I expected considering they really didnt want you to use weight for legs day. Even tony only grabbed 20's. So for all the weighted exercises I just went with him and used the 20's. So far so good. It definitely is hard to keep up with every rep but that only makes me want to push myself more. I have trained for years and havent been this sore in a long time. My upper body is pretty strong ( I weigh 175 and bench 225 for 6-8 reps) so arm chest and back day could be a little more intense but either way I can only imagine the results this program will yield.

Ab-RipperX is definitely my favorite. Cant wait to get my 8 pack back.. have a nice chunk of lower ab fat thats dying to get the **** out!..

Legs & Back kicked my ass all the way through P90X. I think when I first did it, I did 5 pullups during the whole routine. Now I do close to 60. The one thing I don't like about that routine is the excessive number of reps. I've started grabbing heavier weights and only doing 8 -12 reps or so instead of the 24+ they do on some of the exercises.
