I have been mixing Museli, Oats, whey protein, ground flax seed with skimmed milk and water and then putting in the microwave for 45 secs.
Will the microwave have a negative effect on the whey? ie; break it down or degrade it?
The whey I have been using is either DY Tempro or Gaspari Intrapro, not that I suppose that makes much difference.
Thanks

Doesn't make much difference on the brand of protein. Whey tends to denature the quaternary structure fast when exposed to heat, only takes something like 160F I think? That said, all that really happens is the protein unfolds a bit, becomes stiff, and will tend to form globs of it. Still the same aminos that your body is going to break down to, etc.
I believe with some people, there is for some reason a chance of allergies occurring more prominently with whey that has been denatured - but it is very slim, if true at all.I remember being relevant.
